sunday cycling walk at the park with macro lens
This morning was no sublime at all; the night was really terrible for me, as I had a headache, felt sick (I think it was food poisoning), and did not sleep half of the night. Therefore, in the morning I woke up only in the afternoon, and there was even no time / desire to make my morning coffee. The head did not hurt, but there were residual effects ... let's just say: it was buzzing... in rounds.
I had to go outside my male cave, take a walk and receive a medication in the form of fresh air, wind and sunlight. Thats what I needed badly. Yes! today, fortunately, has been well supplied with sunshine. Well, in general ... we need to make sure that autumn does not pass by :)
I tried to persuade my daughter to ride together ... A small digression: in August I bought her a new bike (with 26-inch wheels, practically this is an adult, serious model!) - and this bike has been idle for 2 months now. She never even tested it. Today we did it, and ... well, the result, in general, was not good (the daughter complains that the bike is still too big for her, although it is not so ... it seems to me that she made herself a prejudice, but to fight with thoughts of this kind stuck in my teenage daughter's head ... it's not profitable, doesn't pay off).
So we went out into the yard, she drove 5 meters, we had a pityful conversation (and even tears!), after that I returned both my daughter and her bike back home... and my need of outdoors medication even arised. Ofc it's a pity: the weather was perfect, a warm Indian summer day to cherish... So I got on my bike and rode to the nearest park solo.
Although I was not entirely alone: I was accompanied by a faithful friend. Today I made a shelter in my bag for a 150mm macro lens; I had no clear intention of photographing anything specific, so I took it at random... maybe thinking about possibility for street photography (I like to play paparazzi style, photographing from afar the folks unaware of they are being papped, and their everyday activities).
By the way, congratulate me ("the idiot's dream has come true") - I finally bought myself a photo-backpack (before that I posessed two trunks, but not backpacks, and it is not the same deal), the famous model Kata-103; but it is still in the mail, alas, I cannot boast of this pleasant gift to myself. Although, getting it and testing in the first walk on such a sunny autumn day would be very worthy and very sublime for Sunday!
First, I made two full circles around the park, around the perimeter (for training and physical activity), and then dismounted, uncovered the camera and made a small circle around the lake.
Children get warm, wear gloves and warm pants, but still ride! The 2021 season is far from over.
The last days, it's not summer anymore, but one might think that this is it ... nature has already prepared its autumn palette and is breeding gold and cinnabar on an industrial scale, so that it will soon be splashed on us.
... And, of course, I was not left without subjects for photographing. If the sun is there, then the rest is not a problem, you can photograph anything with a macro lens, and the results will be pleasing. Do you agree with me?
I hung out for 15 minutes on the bridge, looking out for the scenes around me on the horizon and studying the locks hanging on the railings through the viewfinder. Maybe, on occasion, they will be useful to me for some photo challenge? Castles are always a good investment, right?
A mom brought disabled girl and her sister to the park to feed the ducks. So touching. I immediately thought about my daughter, who can run, but stayed at home on the stove ... (What we have, we do not appreciate, and when we have lost, we cry).
And then it was time for the macro. I discovered a beautiful subject - willow leaves floating in the water along with duck feathers. And I got some perfect captures (have to edit them, before they look that cool, actually).
I took no ducks pictures, not with the 150mm tele.
And after that - tadaaam! - fungi came to the scene. I know of one tree stump in this park, not far from a feral orchard where the Fluffy Trametes used to grow. So, I visited that spot and had an opportunity to photograph several other mushrooms, which also decided to settle upon this stump.
This 'crying mushroom' looks very spectacular. (Actually, this is not a morning dew as you might think... you may find a polypore mushroom with those tears any time of a day -- the name is 'guttation': this is a process, a way mushrooms get rid of excessive moisture they dont need).
I add two more photos (of not great quality) not for the beauty, but purely "for reportage" -
Filmed on my bike, the camera dangling around my neck (shutter speed 1/320). Yes, the telephoto is not very suitable for street photography in the "on the bike" mode, I cannot repeat the achievements of @ x-rain (you can see what amenities he filmed in his recent bike trip around the city).

I was going to say, but I thought it was from the past, hehehe 😜
It is very dry here in California!
Looks like it is cold over there already.
yes, it is. this warm golden-yellow calmness is very deceiving. little cyclists wear warm hats and gloves for a reason! - a !BEER for you, thanks for walking with me today. I just added a mushroom foto to the end of the post , with guttation process... in case you may be intrested.
Here we are still wearing shorts and have the air conditioner on. I'll have to refresh to try and see the guttation photo. Ah now I see it, tiny little guy, probably a red banded polypore baby.
oh my!!!!! and you say that we live in apparently the same conditions, haha. no! today it was +10 during the day, and with this freeze during the nights, our mushrooms stopped growing - thats the reason why your forests have a better fungi biodivercity that ours. but I dont go to the forest when I want to get a mushroom !PIZZA -- cheers!

'brilliant click', as they say. well, thank you for the compliment. sunny weather and my good 150mm lens to blame for that.
I really like the way the macros turned out in this one. Those feathers are pretty epic looking when seen up close. =)
yes, agree -- I was fascinated myself! this is maybe the nature of this stuff,-- it looks cool and not annoying even when having a small GRIP zone. and, besides that, a dark background (which I tend to adjust to almost black with my editing). when I edit a bunch of them, I will share a new post completely of feathers... someday. thanks for a feedback! 😎
You are most welcome. My other favorite shots were the ones with the lady and her two daughters feeding the ducks. I felt the candid nature of the shots was really nice and the tones and focus were soft and sharp at the same time. The dude fishing was a great shot too. Awesome post all the way around. Glad you got you a bag too! I am sure that will only help. =)
Congratulations, your post has been upvoted by @dsc-r2cornell, which is the curating account for @R2cornell's Discord Community.
You show a very cool picture.
Are they your family?
nope! these were strangers, as I wrote in the beginning of the post, planned bicycle ride with my babygirl failed (dye to bicycle) and I was there alone. and my daughter is not disabled (thanks God) 🙏
I am glad to hear it.
Hope all is well there.
loved this one 👍
Its the same feeling I have while playing the game "Life is strange" , Each story in the photo really brought me into the places, it is like I am there and watching all the people and the scenery with my own eyes. One photo that really catches my eyes is this one.
It gives me mixed feeling, about life about the future, the leaf and the feathers really complement each other in this photo. It gave me the feeling of having a sentimental value to it. It like I am a survivor from a post apocalypse world. :D
Thank you for sharing this!
oh! good for you that you have survived :)
I didnt play Life is Strange even once
but I did play thousand of hours the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th season of Fallout. great visuals. hehe.
