snowy streets at St.Petersburg (15 photo)

A few shots from today's walk across the snowy streets of St.Petersburg. The day was not sunny. All pictures taken by me.
Below is same photo, with a pinch of x-processing (manual, added digitally at PS). Which color grading you consider better (your personal choice)?
Also, note her feet; in my consideration, her feet must be terribly cold in this summer sneakers. Well, everybody knows that fashion requires sacrifices - and every day there are more victims sacrificed...
At the playground. Infants are the ones who definitely love this massive snowdrop -- from all their heart!
My baby returned home today as a real Snow Maiden - she was all cold and white, fell out in the snow so that lumps of snow fell from her clothes. And she brought a whole bunch of snow in her hands, as well -- just to show her mother how much snow there is outside :)

I like how this blind shot, made at random, turned out. Candid, real citylife, without any permission-asking and staging. Below is the cropped close-up version of the shot.
A flock of pigeons found a solid loaf of rye bread - a feast! and maybe a struggle will follow, too ('Give us bread and circus!') :D
I stumbled a car accident and captured this trivia scene: Russian road police checks the incident spot. Look at the happy face of that policeman, he's definitely looking forward to receive a bribe...

Waiting at the bus station. When snow falls the city over, public transport always experience "objective difficulties", and waiting periods increase, sometimes unpredictably -- due to inevitable traffic jams.

actually it was not cool -- not windy, not frozen, quiet and fluffy! a 'cool' walk, indeed! I have to spend more hours outside now, with camera!
I like more the second, less violet photo as well, as in my opinion, it represents more the cold air than the warmer first photo.

:D yes... we have a vey corrupted police, and the road department is on the top of it!
as more minutes pass by, my look became more fresh, and I also start loving 'less violet' one better. I always tend to manipulate the pictures away from the dull mundane 'as shot' originals to somewhere. color and light sometimes become the main reason to watch in a photo. thank you a lot for a feedback, and thanks for visit. may I treat you with !WINE? or maybe some !BEER?

ha! 'birds are more focused on the circus rather than the bread' - I spent with them 6 mins, and at least one ( the white one ) was intrested more in bread, and permanently was kicking off the rivals.
with the cig guy I love best that the blind one-take shot (no doubles) brought in this trophey. I like to harvest folk's faces and emotions in streetphoto like that.

That dude looked super stoic! Awesome shots all the way around. Those birds though.... usually it would have been like gladiators fighting for their freedom. I guess they don't like rye as much as others... hahhaa
ENGAGEtokens.Скорее всего на двух верхних ты играл с ББ. Нижний ползунок уводил сначала вправо (малиновая зона), затем влево (зелёная зона). ИМХО если как открытка, то можно всё. Можно ещё и тоновую кривую подключить, там вообще жесть возможно сделать)) Фото всё же более естественного баланса просит (имхо, опять же). Если снег, то белый. Более холодного хочется, уводишь верхний ползунок ЧУТЬ влево, более тёплого солнечного - ЧУТЬ вправо. Размер ЧУТЬ по вкусу.
Нижний ползунок обычно вообще не трогаю, только если в оригинале задрано на автомате, бывает и такое.
Но это как обратная связь, без критики. У каждого подход тут свой. Если пришлёшь рав, поделюсь своим вариантом. Попробовал твою первую фотку изменить...уже не выходит, сильно сдвинут баланс.

баланс белого у меня да, примерно так всегда и делаю - нижний ползун вправо на +10, верхний ползун влево в холодные синие края, в холодые цвета. а дальше все вариативно. белый цвет снега - кому он нужен, а? если кому-то нужен, пущай в окно смотрит, его там много завезли :) ну, серьёзно, как так, зачем все всегда в реализьм подгонять. солнце может и так эту картинку подсветить, и так... а в другое время и другой точке земли, еще и вот так, и эдак! по-всякому могло быть.
рав конечно пришлю, если есть такое желание и карточка зацепила.
я имею в виду не отдельное тонирование света и тени, а работу с графиком светотени. Там почти из любой картинки можно полный сюр получить.
Вот видишь, дело вкуса)) я люблю снег ближе к белому, у тебя свои предпочтения.
Можно хоть под старый поляроид подогнать цвета)) А присылай рав, попробуем.

@qwerrie - Wednesday Walk is one of my favorite photo series of you that I really enjoy. So I can learn and see how people lives life in your city/St. Petersburg. Even the part of the city that you show us from your photos are not a tourist destination with fancy commercial decoration. But the captured shot of photos from your walk are so much more beautiful in term of how people lives their life.

Воспользовался фильтром Никколекшн с добавлением светов оригиналу
заценил результат. (получен одним фильтром из Никкол? всмысле, без ручной доводки?..)
хочется сказать что-то позитивное, но не знаю что. снег натурального цвета, реалистичный, и цвет лица у барышни осветлён в нужной мере, получелось тепло и хорошо.
а все остальное не привлекло внимания. общее впечатление - первое, самое сильное, при взгляде на кадр - что его поблюрили каким-то софт-фильтром, или сфоткали таким объективом, что все пересвеченное-размытое-мягкое... и мне эта фигня не нравится. мимо такой карточки я прошел бы не глядя в ее сторону... или сморщился и отвернулся бы в другую сторону. нету красоты цепляющей внимания. ну то есть понятное дело, что ее там и не было, в том месте и в тот момент, камера честно это передала, а дальше я выкручивался. льщу надеждой что мне хоть как-то, на сколько-то, удалось это сделать. пусть и неестественными цветами.
там каждый фильтр имеет довольно тонкую настройку. Я зарядил туда сырой файл без корректировки, хотел посмотреть результат. Рав темноват и ББ сдвинут. Хотя исо 800 (зернит, кстати), но 1/800 может была излишней (хотя на длинном фокусе без штатива да, может это и край))
Лично мне в фотографиях нравится мягкость и естественность.
Но если для картинки... выбирай как хоцца :))
здесь только мануал с градиентным фильтром и основные корректировки в ЛР
я не побоюсь высказать суждение, что левый верхний фрагмент - выглядит и наиболее естественно, и наиболее симпатично (притом что снег не белый).
ну, да. что ж, время жизни на каждый кадр тратить в немеряных количествах? вот поэтому я мало чего нового знаю, старое что знаю, тем уверенно и пользуюсь, а новое осваиваю крайне медленно и неохотно...
вот в посл.время поставил задачу раскузю.кать что такое "частотный фильтр" - трудная хрень. да и не нужная в обычной рутине, это только для имиджей очень высокого класса... а у меня таких почитай и вовсе нету.
э\то я просто для примера набросал. Выбор от настроения зависит и задачи. Менял только ББ в градиентных фильтрах ЛР
Насчёт частотного, дык не юзал, я портретами профессионально не занимаюсь, прыщи на лицах не вывожу)) Надо будет тебе, так разберёшься, у всего есть свой алгоритм.
