wednesday walk at St.Petersburg (story + 11 foto)

This is a post to go with #WednesdayWalk challenge

Weather is fine - cold, sunny, snowy. I had a deal in the city center, so there was a little outdoors trip with a camera. I decided to walk out my 16-35mm lens, which I didnt use since December (for possible cityscapes that will attract my look). And also I took my 70-300mm telephoto lens as a spare... just in case (I mostly was thinking of intresting mascarons, that may cross my path, or a birding encounter that will be worth it - and, happily, it happened exactly so; I planned my random luck!)

The day turned out to be quite eventful. First, I had a job interview ... and getting to know my potential future employer went well. And there were also a few less important, but pleasant meetings. But first things first.

In the morning, as always, I took my child to school.

On the way back, I tried to go home asap, but still walked through the park looking after the waxwings (the other day I saw a flock of waxwings feeding on berries. Alas! The bush happened to be completely eaten, not a single berry remained. And, accordingly, there were no birds either). With grief and in the form of consolation, I picked up a dozen berries that the waxwings dropped, I decided to try them too: are they really so fermented and fancy, or just people say so. And: yes! the berries had... some qualities like that :D I really liked it and pick up 12-15 ones! As I walked home I slowly warmed them in my mouth and ate, one after another. I also put the seeds into my pocket - I had an idea to increase their distribution area, at least to my yard. Maybe I'll plant a bush or two at my countryside place. Will see. I love our nature!..

The consequences of eating frozen berries were not safe for me, tho ... but more on that later. And by the way, I'll take a macro picture of the viburnum seeds later - they look cool.

At home I made coffee, set the battery to recharge (in the cold, they go to zero in a very speedy manner) and the time was up to start the main storyline of the quest - i.e. going out for my interview.

A little graffiti I discovered on my walk. But the more intresting encounter happened later: I found Mona Lisa!

Isnt it sweet? My city of St.Petersburg is known as a "cultural capitol" of Russia. We have loads of culture scattered everywhere, indeed. :D

This is a typical St.Petersburg cityscape in the district where my possible new job is located.

The conversation went well, I enjoyed the job, and the folks whom I talked, seems enjoyed me... but the final decision will took 2 weeks. Lets see -- if my YEAR VACAYS without fair job and salary are finished or not yet. I am slightly broken on cash, haha. The current HIVE's price rising is very handy and inspiring, what else can I say...

In the yards: lurking around and making my way to the Tube, I decided to check a few yards. One of them brought in nice stuff: graffity!

And perhaps, that was all.

Thanks for walking with me, see you next time!
Надеюсь, вам было приятно прогуляться со мной по улицам Петербурга!

rich relatives (I suspect) are being rich cause they dont like to waste the money... otherwise -- how they would become rich?.. :=)

Exactly :D

So there is no problem, we would not ask, they would not give, but them we believe in ourselves and fight for our small families. And that is ok that way!

🙏 Hoping really that you can get the job!! Good luck @qwerrie! :)

I hope the the job interview went well, and it seems like a great walk.
I love the glove with berries, you captured it beautifully.
And I feel for Mona Lisa... Lol
The grafitty ones are really cool and I often love looking at street art and such, colorful.
Really amazing pictures shots of the buildings as well.
Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day. Cheers

you are too kind! I really dont think those are that great (as a photographs) - its the subject, all those art nuovo historical buildings that attract the eye... the pics could be much more cool with the proper light -- that day it was cloudy, even shady, and probably all the light you see in the pics, I provided them in photoshop :P
but meeting with Mona Lisa at the streets was a splendid event for me. and I also met on that day for the 1st time in my life a very cool birdie, Mistle Thrush (shared it to another community, tho). those were the real highlights of the day, that I value myself.
ps. the talk with possible employer (its a kids publishing house, thats it! I never worked with kidz publishing before and really hold my breath!) went well... now its the question if they are getting any other better candidates then me. and also there will be a 3-month testing run. lets see. you may cross fingers for me :)))

Same with me, having an encounter with her on the street - was refreshing and surprising. (Also on that day I met a nice birdie, for the first time in my life - Fieldfare, just shared it in another post). it was a good day for me. Hope the new job is awaiting for me, I am really sick of being unemployed (since last January...)
