RE: Machu Picchu from Huayna Picchu

Ahh the frustration of not being able to enjoy your inalienable human right to ride roughshod over famous historical things to get the perfect Instagram selfie XD

It would be pretty maddening having to wait to get onto The List to get up there but it's probably safer for everyone and everything. I remember going to Fremantle Prison ages and ages ago and you could either hang around for the guided tours which operated hourly or half hourly or whatever it was, or you could just take yourself through. The outlaws and I took the kids more recently (still a few years ago) and the only option was waiting for the guided tours, and it seemed to be for pretty much the same reason of protecting/preserving the site while still allowing people to get in there and experience and learn about it.

It's such an impressive looking ruin, must have been even more amazing in its heyday.
