An early morning visit to the Town of Fairhaven Boat Launch

An early morning visit to the Town of Fairhaven Boat Launch

This post is about an early morning visit I did to the Boat Launch for the Town of Fairhaven, I am so far behind in editing photos, I actually visited there on July the 26th, but only got around to editing the photos for this post over the weekend.

This spot is about 20 minutes from our house, and from google maps, I thought there was a beach you could walk along either side of it, but either side of it there are stone walls out to the water, so I gathered it was private property and resisted the urge to climb over the rock walls. but it was still a nice visit and I got a few shots, starting with this one of the boat ramp.

The colors were soft and almost pastel like that morning I do love nice rich colorful sunrises, but subtle ones like this are very calming I think.

I walked out on the little pier/dock and looked back for this next shot, partly because of the almost full moon in the sky

and looking off to one side at a couple of the properties, you may be able to make out the rock wall I was talking about on the right of this photo.

walking back in off the pier I could not resist to get a shot of these colorful boats, i may have amped up the colors a little to much in this one

And that’s all folks

Wow, these are awesome photos.

I love photos taken in the early morning such as these. Your photos kind of makes me feel that fresh, crispy morning air.

Fantastic shots, makes me want to be there! Had to look it up, about 5 hours from me. Love my Sony as well.

Thanks, theres not much of an area to walk, but still a nice spot to catch the sunrise,

I am waiting to see what the new Sony !7IV will bring I may be so tempted to get one

Lol, that's the model I bought a few months back. Love it. Especially with the ability to crop in at such high resolution to keep nice detail. Of course now with the even newer A1 out, I'm also having a bit of camera envy already.

Ohh I think you mean the A7riv is the one you got

I have the A7iii but supposedly next month the IV comes out with a 33mb sensor

The A1 is awesome but way out of my budget

Yes, same here on the A1, wow that is pricey. So, sounds like there is a Separate A7IV coming out that is different than the A7rIV... hmmm I will have to check that out. I love the 62mb and 26mb crop mode I get on this one.

Yeah due to chip delays the release has been out off from earlier this year
I have been tempted to go for the A7Riv but not sure I need all that resolution

It's really nice to have when I need it. Easy to down res as needed for some postings, etc. Love that extra cropping capability to still have excellent 20-30mb pic even with a 200-300% crop.

That’s a good point
Will decide once I see the specs fir the new one

Apart from the fact that all photos are great as always and that I love the sunrise colours, I like the second shot most.

The only thing is that I would want the dock to be much longer to walk further out towards the sunrise. And I don't like the next shot, but only because it means to go back from the sunrise to the "normal" world 😁

Haha, well, at least the picture is still an outdoor sunrise and not a gloomy office. 😃

Very interesting. I would have expected the launch to be bigger give you are connected to the ocean there. It must just be for people with smaller boats who want to putter around the harbor or bay. Fantastic shots as always!

Thanks and yes I was expecting more, there are bigger launches around I guess I suspect this is primarily for people out in small boats fishing

Beautiful images! Perfect clicks and editing! I am tempted to carry my cam and take photos during my morning walks, but then I feel this is an expert's job so let them do it :)

The colors are magical in these, JJ! Softer, lighter, and almost the sweet colors of cotton candy loveliness. I missed it today, but, glad I caught it tonight.

What have you done differently? It is a new look to me. Or perhaps it is just late?

Truly beautiful as always.

Thanks
I think with the softer pastel colors I went fit more painterly style edits with these shots that could be why they look different

The second picture and the picture of the boats look very beautiful (wallpaper standard), especially the boats.

I like this camera of yours. I was so inquisitive that I had to check out the features and I stumbled upon it on Amazon. I realized its cost is almost $2000. But I think it worths it considering its features and quality.

Ohh yeah its not cheap, but it is one of there low end cameras I guess, the top of the line is the new Sony A1, which goes for $6500, which is way out of my budget, but they are bring out an upgrade to mine which will be around $2500 which may be very tempting for me

And the camera isnt the worse part, add a few lenses and the numbers get scary

Wow! $6500 for a camera? It must have outstanding features then.

I think so but when I saw the price I didn’t look at any more detail lol

I guess that price was a knock off. Anyway, it would have been tempting if you had taken a deep look at it.

I must admit after my last comment I did take a quick peek it is pretty impressive
But the A7 works well enough 😀

That's a nice sunrise to start the day, for sure! I have a "sunrise lamp" in my room that is scheduled to slowly brighten in the morning, and I use it as my alarm clock. The ones you see are better.

I got one of those lamps as a gift years ago, not sure what I ever did with it, was kind opf pointless for me I cannot remember the last time I was woken by an alarm clock

The color of the boats looks fine to me :)

Those sunsets really do look calming. I don't think I would turn my back long enough to get pictures in the other direction.
