See the beauty in the small things
This post was inspired by an amazing post by @johanpiber on Minimal landscapes, well worth checking out, now I am not sharing minimal landscapes in this post just some small details in nature such as this little dandelion

My Daily Thought
Well I will be honest one of many daily thoughts, some may say I have a very active mind and so many thoughts go through my head in a day, many you wont want to know about LOL, but one particular thought that came ot mind when editing these photos.
Don't be so focused on the big stuff that you do not get to enjoy the small things in life.
So often we are in such a hustle and bustle to get things done and achieve our goals in life, we are totally focused on the big plans and projects and don't slow down even for a moment to enjoy the little things all around us.
Now in this post I am highlighting this with some small details in nature, alongside a trail heading around a pond and its easy to focus on the trail the color of the trees, the water and reflections in the pond, its easy to miss these small things.
But it also applies equally and perhaps more importantly to all factors of life, so focused on your job and the big project or super achieving for the next promotion, what when one gets home our mind id still racing on work, and we miss the the beauty and innocence of a smile of a child, a gentle caress on your shoulder from your partner, and so many other little things, I am sure as your reading this some examples in your own life may come to mind.
I am not saying not to focus on the big things, work projects etc etc, but to try and slow yourself down to appreciate the small things in your life, and are they really small, they may be such significant moments in your life that you may never experience them again and would that not be a shame to miss them.
Now I am not saying I am perfect and was always slowing down to enjoy those special moments I used to work a high pressure job and made the same mistake I am now recommending not to do, but i finally learned the need to get an even balance in life.
The thoughts above will make this an entry for Dreemport initiative @dreemsteem selects a challenge each week for members to join if they so wish, and this week the challenge is the Thoughtful Daily Post created and supported by @wesphilbin A person I have known for quite a while on Hive, and one who is very active in many communities, Let me explain the concept in his own words
“The tag #thoughtfuldailypost can be applied to any post that speaks of positivity, uplifting topics, inspiration, reflection (especially self-reflection), deep musings about our human nature, spiritual aspects, and other philosophical inclinations. Despite the word "daily" in the tag, it is not necessary to write a post every day to participate — a single post of a thoughtful nature is welcome any time! We need more positivity and thoughtfulness in the world, now more than ever!”
Now for the last two weeks I have joined this challenge, and although I still do not feel I am a write, I am joining it again today as I do love the concept of it, and may try to now and again join it now that I have got started.
Now back to some small details in nature with another dandelion this time in color.

Now for these shots I was out on a walk and took my Sony 24-240 lens, one I used to always carry with me when I worked in NYC, but with most of my recent walks being by the beaches I have bene using my pair of tamron lens mostly, and I thought it was time to give the sony lens some use

And a similar plant this time in color

Now this last shot is similar to the second photo, but not the same photo, I generally once I have done one style of edit for a photo will not do a different style, but a very similar photo editing in Mono

.It's nice to find the beauty in the little things, or the things around us that we often take for granted. Nice way to slow down the day!
Yes I totally agree, :)
have a great day
I usually take walks in the rain because I find it so beautiful and calming.
People always look at me weird.
I was the same when I was younger nit so much how well not with my camera at least lol
I think age shouldn't be important in enjoying the little things.
Well I don’t mind being in the rain on a warmer day but I don’t have my camera out in the rain much
I hate umbrellas so happily walk in the rain
Nice use of Macro lens and as you said we normally forget to see the beauty hidden in small objects.
Thanks
Have a great day
It's always the small things in life, isn't it? Such, it is so even when we don't notice it. I think that when we are younger we focus on the bigger picture, never realizing that it is the small moments or things strung together they make it all up.
I especially love your examples and the black and white dandelion shows exactly why it's the small things that count. Separated and individual they stand out, but only if you were looking for it.
A really wonderful set of photos black and white and color and a wonderful post. Thank you so much and I hope you have a most wonderful day.
Thanks kindly your support is appreciated and your kind words are so thoughtful
Have a great day
Wow... Can I make a wish? :) That dandelion shots is beautiful!
Of course make a wish
You're talking from my heart JJ, I know that enjoying the small things in life are as important as these big achievements we are aiming for, and many small things together can make a huge thing in the end.
But it's not that easy, as you said, but I do try ... for example, this morning I was happy that finally I got a desk in the other office where I could set up the computer, although they forgot the chair 🤣
I even try to shoot more the small things lately, so I take many intimate landscape photos instead of the huge vistas.

I hope you did not miss out on the little things such that it gave you regrets, @tattoodjay!
If so, it's not too late.

Those are some great macro shots! I have some nature stuff that I am going to share tomorrow I think. It has been a crazy week and I am still playing catch up quite honestly! Focusing on the small things is a great mindset to have!

While I totally agree with the point that we need to enjoy the small things in life, its very important to remember that when things become cloudy and uncertain, it is EXTREMELY important and helpful to step back in order to see the BIG picture on a macro level.
Still, micro works well for photography.
A very good point you raise and I do agree
Thanks and Have a great day
nice work and nice photography well done
Thanks kindly your support is appreciated

This is so true what you say.
We often take these small things for granted. And the sad part is that we only start missing them once they get taken away from us...and then it's too late...
Even in those small things in nature, yet so much detail!
A very thought-provoking post! Thank you for reminding us of this.

Hello @tattoodjay. I enjoyed your article. It resonated with me because I too was victim for years of running at full speed, not daring to slow down else something would be left undone that had a deadline of that day.
Sometimes circumstances with cause you to slow down. Then you have no other choice. It's best to take the time to enjoy life a little more before it passes you by.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I read your post through #dreemport
And thanks for such a thoughtful comment truly appreciated
We may not know the benefits in those little or small things we do not focus on because we think nothing can come forth from them but only to realize we are missing some beautiful things around us.
It is not all about those big or giant stuff alone but the beauty in seeing the little things around us. We should also focus on them because they matter also.
Thanks for this beautiful thoughtful post.
@dreemport
Thanks for your visit a d thoughtful feedback
A wonderfully thoughtful and mindful post. Being aware of the smallest changes around us, being present in the moments, its what we should all be striving to do, and I am glad you are taking the time to do it. Love the mono dandelion btw. I'm thinking of getting this brilliant little Olympus Tough TG-6 camera that I have seen for macro shots to complement my Canon 7D. A family member, who is a photographer, has it as part of her repertoire and I love how she gets to climb inside the world of the little things in nature all around us. Nicely done. i cam to your post via #dreemport
