The Pond in Buttonwood Park at Sunrise

The Pond in Buttonwood Park at Sunrise

Now on Sundays Post I shared some shots playing around with light and glow sticks by Buttonwood Park pond, and a day or so after I tried those shots there was a nice sunrise and I was by the pond and that's what I will share today.

Starting with this shot of what is or was called the warming house beside one side of the pond, it is used now as a Senior Citizens Centre, I am not sure what is done there, I don't like to thing I am getting into the age of being called a senior citizen, but I have to face it, I am getting close if not there already, where did the years go.

You can see the water lilies on the pond, this spot used to always be crowded with tons of geese, but I haven't seen them on the last couple of visits there, maybe they have moved on somewhere else

Now this is across the other side of the pond and actually earlier that morning just subtle hints of color in the sky

And around the pond a bit further the light son the Senior center and on the streets and car park showing up but this shot I was mainly trying to show all the Water Lilies on the pond

And after the colors of the sunrise had faded away, the Warming house/Senior centre standing out nicely

And spell checker on my PC keeps telling me I spell centre wrong, I was brought up down under where we spell in Centre, but of course here the correct way is center, but I bounce between the two

And a Last shot of the building ( avoiding using the 6 letter C word as now I don't know which spelling I want to use LOL )

We have a similar pond near our house but your images make all the difference :). I was just wondering why American and British dictionaries use different letters for the same words.
I have set my language as American English to avoid this confusion. My medium was also British English during my college days.

It is confusing for sure I think American English actually makes more sense but old habits die hard lol

Americans have shortened everything, you can write whatever you want but they don't mind. Yes old habits die hard! :)

Awesome sunrise in that first picture. I love those purples and oranges like that. We get some pretty great sunrises on the East coast of Michigan here where I work. Having Lake Huron to the right of us is almost as good as having the Atlantic! That pond looks like it needs a little work! Lots of vegetation floating about!

Yeah I have noticed the vegetation has spread just over the year I have been here I think it fir sure needs to be taken care of

I remember seeing some amazing sunrises when I visited Michigan

I definitely think there is a place for that kind of swampy ecosystem, but probably not in the middle of town at a city park! :)

Yes that’s very true or at least controlled not taking over the whole pond

I love the sunrise colours in all shots but this time the first one is my favourite photo 😃

Well, Mr senior citizen, you might know that in German we use the word "Sie" when we talk to people we don't know or to show respect... It's like you say "sir" or "madam'. I come from the countryside and usually we don't use the "Sie" there ... it's a bit complicated 😉 ...
What I want to say is that I have first noticed that I am getting old when other or younger people started to use the "Sie" when they were talking to me and they said Herr Piber / Mister Piber - I am on the best way to become a senior citizen too 😉

!BEER and !PIZZA - nice 😃

Lol sorry that’s for sure a sign your getting older lol

As for Sir or Sie I hate being called that I know it’s a matter of respect fir many but back to my military days Sir was an officer which I rejected becoming many time 😂

!PIZZA and !BEER - sounds like a nice dinner :)

Haha, in the beginning that was shocking because in my hometown we don't even say "Sie" to the mayor 🤣
Oh I know what you mean, to have gold on my shoulders has never been my wish neither, although nowadays I wished I was an officer because then I could tell some people to do their work 😉

Lol yes I guess there are perks to it
I was asked many time to do officer training even offered me the choice to go overseas for it but I always declined I guess I liked being one of the boys

If one engages he gets !ENGAGE 25 from me

There's so much Theatre in the Centre. I wonder if the coloured lighting is all Fibre Optic? It would be something to discuss over a Litre of a Good Flavoured Bottle of Gin.
I certainly hope my neighbour living south of me, sees the Humour in my comment!

@tattoodjay,

As always... beautiful photographs; something about the way water, and sky, seem to become one. While the sun is gorgeous, the photos with the lights are my favorite this time... You caught the "flare" in each perfectly!

Well... (and that's a deep subject 😂) you don't seem to be doing too bad brother! Thank you for sharing such beautiful images...

Actually often when taking photos is one of the few times my mind isn’t active at all I am just in the moment clicking away almost in autopilot mode if that makes sense

Being in the moment with the scenery....
You have a fantastic eye for composition.
My photos yesterday, for Wednesday Walk... it is not centered!

Thanks I guess I do
But your photos were good things do not have to be centered
Look up the rule of thirds that explains a good concept fir composition

Even without editing I imagine the colors by the Sony A7iii, exactly as they appear in your photos. I know Sony A7iii is an amazing machine

I love how the clouds look. They look calm and warm.

The years just keeps on flying. Before we realize, we have reached the age we always feared.
