MOTORCYCLES ARE BEAUTIFUL - Photographs of Timeless Italian Beauties!

avatar
(Edited)

Every guy dreams as a kid to someday own one of those Italian beauties that's on the posters in his room. It goes without doubt that I've been one among those too, dreaming of owning that hot red Ferrari or the sharp looking MV Agusta!

It normally happens that as the boys grow older and life catches on, they start realizing that their dreams are unrealistic and that they start to believe that it isn't really practical to go after their dreams. They start believing that it's out of reach.

Luckily... that doesn't hold true for me because I have been fortunate enough to come across works by gems of authors such as Dr Joseph Murphy, Napoleon Hill and Dr David Schwartz who have helped me believe that it is indeed possible to achieve my dreams.

I have been dreaming big and have also been able to achieve some of them like my then KTM Duke 200 (2015-2019) and now KTM Duke 390 (2019-present). I've been taking it one step at a time to reach my goals.

A great man once said,

Rome wasn't built in a day.

Making larger goals into smaller steps and celebrating each step keeps you motivated to think that it's indeed possible to reach your larger goals. Think of it as climbing the stairs. Do you climb them one step at a time or do you directly jump at the top?

The point being don't listen to the naysayers. Just keep going at a steady pace towards your goals. By naysayers, I don't mean only other people. I'm also including yourself.

The problem is we humans have a tendency to have more negative thoughts than positive ones. It's something ingrained in us from the early times for our survival I guess. You know, like thinking that a lion could possible attack you on the next bush and kill you makes you come up with smarter ways for survival.

We judge ourselves harshly. We become one of our harshest criticizers.

But is it really helpful?

So, yeah. Just keep going one step at a time. Try to visualize yourself as already being capable of buying your dream machine. Go to the showrooms, take a test ride and feel the machine. Then imagine it being parked in your garage.

One day it is bound to be there in your garage because we are the ones who write the pages of our book. We create our lives as we imagine it. It's not something unrealistic. I have experienced it.

When I didn't have enough money, I was still able to make a trip to Steemfest 4 last year. When you have the strong intention to do something, you end up finding a way. It's not necessary that you have to find it. It comes to you by itself in mysterious ways.

So enough of the motivational talk. With this post I intended to share pictures of some European beauties that I came across last year in a Motorcycle Expo held in Pune.

There I got an opportunity to see and feel a lot of my dream machines up close. I also didn't miss the opportunity to do some photographs. I love clicking pictures of Automobiles and I didn't wanna miss this opportunity.

So, here goes:

1. MV Agusta F3 800

MV Agusta F3 800.jpeg

Powered by an inline 3 pot 798cc engine, it manages to produce a maximum power of 145 horses at 13000rpm which is really insane and a max torque of 88 Nm at 10600 rpm. This is a timeless design. I couldn't take my eyes off this bike for a very long time and ended up spending the most time around this inspecting the detailing at every nook and corner as evident in the below picture.

MV AGUSTA F3.jpeg

The attention to detail given by the designer and manufacturer is unbelievable on these MV Agusta bikes. Every part of this bike looks like a masterpiece.

2. MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR

Brutale.jpeg

Brutale is like a younger sibling of the F3 800. It comes with a similar 798cc inline 3 pot making roughly about 136 horses at 12300 rpm and 87 Nm at 10100 rpm. This is called a Naked Bike since it doesn't have any fairing and the engine is exposed. Naked bikes are mostly street fighters meant to be used in the city.

Although I never really understood the reason behind making streetfighters so much powerful because you can't really use all that power in the city anyways and in the highway, the windblast is so much once you cross the 150 kmph mark that it becomes unbearable to ride them so fast for more than a few minutes.

But yeah, it definitely feels good to be having a powerful rocket in between your legs. Don't get me wrong there! The attention to detail on this one is also serious. For example, look at the smooth exhaust design on this bike.

mv agusta brutale 800 exhaust.jpeg

The sleek tank and chassis design on this one is an eye candy. Also, note the perfect design of the engine casing. This bike is nothing short of being an Italian Supermodel. Check out the image below!

I couldn't get my eyes off this one either. I was standing there for a long time trying to soak in all the details and dreaming of owning one someday down the line.

3. MV Agusta F3 800 RC

mv agusta f3 800 rc.jpeg

This is more like a limited edition version of the MV Agusta F3 800. The technical specifications are similar but what is different is the race replica kit which includes race graphics, SC Project Carbon and Titanium Exhaust and some more accessories which makes it unique.

f3 800 rc.jpeg

There are only 400 of these worldwide and only six in India and this is one of the six. The RC in the name stands for Reparto Corse. In case you're wondering what Reparto Corse means,

MV Agusta Reparto Corse is MV Agusta's factory motorbike racing team, currently competing in the Superbike World Championship, Supersport World Championship and Moto2 (in collaboration with Forward Racing). ~WikiPedia

4. SWM Superdual T

swm superdual t.jpeg

This is one of the very few dual sports motorcycle in India. It is powered by a 600cc single cylinder engine which makes a max power output of 54 PS at 7500 rpm and a max torque of 55 Nm at 6250 rpm. It's got dual sport tyres and long travel suspensions which allow the bike to be taken on the road as well as off the roads. I'm not a big fan of this motorcycle as it's got a single cylinder for a 600cc which we all know would have a lot of vibration issues.

Bonus Shots of some Non Italian Brands:

5. Harley Davidson Fatboy

HD Fatboy.jpeg

How many Harley Davidson fanboys in the house? I do love the classy look of the Harleys but I wouldn't call myself a fanboy as I'm more into sports and nakeds. I would still love to own a Harley in my garage someday.

Harley Davidson Engine.jpeg

Fatboy is powered by a huge 1745cc V-Twin Engine. These V engines are known for high torque output. It produces a max power of 86 BHP at 5020 rpm and 145 Nm at 3000 rpm. Notice the rpm numbers are so low compared to the previous bikes. This is because they are long stroke engines. In these engines, max output comes at lower rpms compared to short stroke engines where max output comes out at higher rpms.

6. BMW R 1200 GS

R 1200 GS.jpeg

These are big bad adventure bikes meant for long touring and also riding in off the beaten paths. Powered by a 1170cc mill, it produces 125 bhp Power and 125 Nm of Torque. These are really comfortable for the longest of the long rides. BMW has made smaller versions of adv bikes too. For instance the F750 GS and G310 GS as you can see below.

7. BMW F750 GS

F750 GS.jpeg

This has an 853cc motor which makes 77.5 PS at 7500rpm and 83 Nm at 6000 rpm. I don't really know much anout this bike nor am I interested in it.

8. BMW G310 GS

g310 gs.jpeg

This is the smallest offering by BMW and jointly developed by TVS and BMW. I have ridden this bike and it's a really practical bike apart from it's high price tag of 4+ Lacs rupees on road. It has a 313 cc single cylinder mill producing 33.9 PS at 9500 rpm and 28 Nm at 7500 rpm. It is very practical for everyday city use, touring and also offroading. Overall a good package.

9. BMW K1600 GTL

K1600 GTL.jpeg

This is like the mammoth among motorcycles. It's purely meant for long rides. It would be difficult to ride this in city traffic beacuse of its jumbo size but on long rides, there wouldn't be many motorcycles that could match the comfort. Powered by a 1649cc mill, it produces a max power of 160 PS at 7750 rpm and a max torque of 175 Nm at 5250 rpm. GT stands for Gran Turismo which mostly means long distance touring.

10. Triumph Street Triple 765

Street triple 765.jpeg

This motorcycle is one among my long time favourites. It has a inline 3 cylinder engine producing maximum power of 123 PS at 11750 rpm and a max torque of 79 Nm at 9350 rpm. It is a screamer. It sounds like a musical instrument at high rpm. You should watch one of those fly by videos on YouTube and you'll know what I'm talking. Not only this but the MV Agustas sound similar too.

Dirt Bike Helmet:

Found this cool looking FLY Racing Helmets in one of the helmet shops and instantly fell in love with it. It is superlight and best for offroading. Never really purchased it as I went for a AGV Sports Tourer Helmet which I'll make a post about soon.

Thank you so much bro!

I'm one among those who dream very small and land in something big

This is something I'm hearing for the first time. It seems more like you're going with the flow accepting whatever comes along the way.
Would love to see the progress. :)

You summed it up correctly. Going with the flow and accepting things. Love driving bikes and cars, I never had a dream of owning one. Luckily had a good car for 2 odd yrs and sold it when I was coming back to India.
Btw do you post videos on youtube about your riding experience ?
