Local market is always awesome!

While in Peru, every city we visited, every town we have been to, we always headed to a local market at least once to try local food, to buy local produce and to shop for some souvenir that it wouldn’t cost us an arm and a leg. In Cusco too! and the market you can’t miss out while you there is this popular Mercado San Pedro! (San Perdro Market)


Here are what we tried at Mercado San Pedro! (San Perdro Market)

Peruvian street food at the market, of course! Some juices! Lamb soup! (Gordo de Cordero) A big chunk in a hot delicious soup with some rice for S/ 15. Coca tea, coca candies and coca products in general. The freshly squeezed orange juice is also hard to beat!

Excelente video, @waybeyondpadthai! Todo se ve delicioso e interesante. Cuando viajaba, me gustaba también visitar los mercados populares de cada zona, porque no solo se encuentran productos de precios solidarios, sino tambien extrañas y numerosas variedades. Nunca he probado la hoja de coca pero debe tener algún efecto relajante o antioxidante. Lo mejor: la sopa de carne! La carne se ve jugosa y la sopa espesa. En latinoamerica generalmente se les echa a las sopas matas como célery, perejil y muy especialmente una que se llama culantro o cilantro que le da un sabor y olor especial a las sopas. Mnmnmnm. Salivo con solo imaginarla! ;P El toque de limón y de picante me parece genial. Con tu video quedé con hambre. Ah, no parece papa, parece un tubérculo que se llama ocumo blanco que tiene un sabor como a tierra y es más cremoso. Realmente adoré este video! Gracias por compartir
