My First Market Friday post.

I am glad to find a community here on hive about Friday market experience. I love going to the market on Fridays, shopping for food for the weekend. This is my first post in this community and I must say I like to share how my day at the market went.

First I stopped over at fruit/vegetable shop.

I love pineapples but they are very expensive. There is one I touched and the seller said it goes for N900, That's on a high side but finally, I got a smaller one for N400. I also bought cucumbers there cos I love cucumbers and sometimes eat it with sliced garden eggs ( aubergines) and then put a few drops of black soy sauce and ketch up on it. Very yummy.

Next I proceeded to another shop to buy beans. Did you know there is milk beans? I know white beans and a brown type called honey beans. But in the market today I saw milk beans and I bought to have a taste of it.

I got a little rice too. My kids eat rice nearly everyday and gradually we are running out of rice, so I bought a quarter bag to add to the little left at home.

I don't know about rice in the area you live, did you know that a bag of rice now sells for N29,000? Food is really expensive in my country despite the fact that many foods are not imported anymore. We grow our foods, yet they are expensive.

Oil is another commodity that is rising by the day. The price increases evey week. Some of them are high in cholesterol, yet they are expensive. I got some today too and to a large extent my family eats more groundnut oil compared to palm oil. So I had no choice than to buy.

I also bought other items which I couldn't capture because it was already cloudy as if it would rain in no time. But I'm really glad I found a way to get food stuff today. Now I be able to do chores indoors tomorrow without having to combine with market stuff. My kids too can resume their eating habit, since nothing much to do at home than eat. Haha. No thanks to covid 19. Thank you friends for visiting. I ADORE YOU.

TELL Me, have you visited the market near you in recent times? Would you mind sharing your experience in the comment section let's catch some fun reading?

Welcome to #MarketFriday! We are so glad to see you arrive and look forward to your wonderful posts!

It was a pleasure to wander around your market with you. I agree! Our prices have gotten crazy here. I think it is more that they know we will pay, not so much a shortage! Surprisingly too, as we are not importing foods right now. I don't think anyone is! Rice is such a staple food, one of the reasons they know they can go up and we will still buy it!

Yikes.

I was not familiar with milk beans. Now I will look them up. I love that I learn so much every single time I click on this site. I am so happy to see you posting in the challenge, #MarketFriday! I appreciate the love and support you are giving to #MarketFriday! I feel like the more the merrier.
