The Abundance of Street Foods in Thailand.
Today i was eager to hit the local suburbs of Bangkok city again to see and taste more of there locals stick foods and Thai local dishes so i took the taxi boat ride up the river canal and just randomly picked a spot to get off not knowing where or what i was going to find or see but this is what i like doing getting of the beaten tourist track again wish me luck 😊
So let me go back a few steps after i traveled up the river canal looking at all the amazing scenery of the Thai culture the way there houses stood the temples along the river the spectacular amount of bridges across the canal damn my eyes where everywhere , i was enjoying the ride that much that i don't even know how long i was on this taxi boat nor where i was but i made a decision to get of the boat and start exploring by foot.
First thing i see is this piece of amusing graffiti saying "Have a Nice Day" in Thai very welcoming 😊
There are many interesting factors walking along this river canal that runs for miles through the heart of Bangkok city if you really want to see how the local people live and how they go by there daily life , i suggest jump on one of these taxi boats they are cheap as and you will be amazed with the Thai culture you will see along this canal but today i am focusing on street vendors , i will bring more of the life on the canal in another post.
Walking along the pathway of the river canal the pathways are nicely and safely structured or either side of the river canal you will see a mixture of houses , shops and all these alleyways you can duct into.
It was already after 2 pm by the time i had decided to duct into one of these side streets from the river canal and i was feeling rather hungry so i needed to see what was available along this part of town.
Fried banana no give that a miss for now...
Barbecue sausages they certainly looked appealing...but i needed something more appetizing...
Seafood spicy salads or Seafood Omelette love them but i will walk on see what else is interesting...
Soups of your choice with chicken , pork , beef or seafood.
Pad Thai chicken , pork or prawns love this dish , decision making again but no have had this dish many of times move on....
The Banana Pancake vendor they are sweet and a very tasty dessert.
The man with all the sweet fruit desserts you can think of mixed with some crushed ice...
Fried fish and fried chicken bits...
The JackFruit vendor cutting it up freshly in front of you i love this fruit it has a smooth crunchiness and taste like a mix of pineapple and passionfruit all in one.
Sweet biscuits , candy and sweet assorted nuts...
Fresh fruit and veggies are always available anywhere in every corner of Thailand no need to be racing off to a supermarket if you need a knob of garlic or a couple of hot chilies they are there just outside your front door....
I always love looking at there types of veggies like just been picked freshly out of there backyard...
The show of there fruits are always mouth watering....
You always need to have the vendor amongst all the vendors selling the Buddha flowers and the offerings that go with it when you visit the temple to offer to the Monks....
Ice coffee vendors i love there chilled coffees...
This street food vendor will cook you the best of the best of Thai dishes and no dish we be over $3 US with a cool drink.
These other eat in street restaurants are just overwhelming in the variety of Thai dishes they provide for eat in or take away , is where i ended up having my spicy seafood shells and veggie dishes for less then $10 US a three course meal and a cold beer included was just the best home cooked meals.
A day well spent amongst the Thai street vendors and a nice full belly going home feeling all content...

Very colourful street. And mouth-watering food. :-)
Just awesome place for foods Thailand so much variety to choose from never get bored of eating 👍
Yes, I can imagine. :-)
👍 👍 👍
I love all foods, I miss the meatballs, Thai sausage, Thai fruits. I hope I were there. 😆
I bet you miss your country food Japan has great foods also but it's nice to have some spicy Som Tam and Papaya salad and most of the rest it's all yummy.
Do you work there full time or you studying there ?
I love Som Tam very much. I did sometimes, I brought mortar here. haha
I work full time but I work at home now because of the corona virus situation.
How about you? What do you do in Thailand?
I think they not make Som Tam in Japan like they make here but if you make it's better i think.
I work with engineering products for big machines.
Yea, you are right. Som Tam in Japan is not good even if Thai chef cooks it. It is Japanese taste, I don't like it. Papaya is expensive so I usually use carrot because it is cheaper. --"
I think Japaneses don't really eat spicy food like Thai people so the Thai food there i would imagine would be done more in a European way sweeter unless you make it yourself then it's will taste like real Thai food 👍
Most Japanese people don't eat spicy food. When I order Thai food, I have to mention that I want Thai taste. ^^
Yeah i can imagine that i can FedEx you some spicy Thai food if you like. Tonight for dinner i had Tam Thai spicy with bbq chicken and sticky rice so yummy 🤣 🤣

You're welcome @bigsambucca! It was well deserved! Keep up the good work 👍
Seriously!!! I am not sure I have ever, ever, ever seen so much food in one day. Fish and fruit, bread and stick food, sausages, and meat... If you cannot find it on the streets in Bangkok, they probably don't have it.
I am so impressed with how you put yourself out there and you don't let the transportation intimidate you, nor people that you don't know, or even the language. I jump right in too, but, most people think I am crazy because I do it.
The prices are amazing, the food looks so delicious, fresh and it is all nutritious. The streets look so clean!!! They have really pumped up the sanitation there with the virus. I am still disappointed that many people don't wear masks, just for protection for now. The US has relaxed in some states and 20 of our states are showing huge spikes in the virus again.
Le sigh.
You consistently outdo yourself! These are awesome! This was fun, and I cannot thank you enough for letting us tag along! Thank you!

I honestly get blown away with the amounts of foods they put out there and by the end of the day it's all gone Thai people know how to eat.
The transportation i actually enjoy because it's always going some where different and if i have problems i always have google map and google translate to help me out but people are normally very helpful always get a smile back from them even if i am been a little crazy it's all fun and buying food of them they always helps especially when you buy food that they think a foreigner wouldn't eat it leaves then amazed 😊
With Trump running the country we always knew America was going to be in trouble here everyone seems to have accepted the fact of the mask and have been very cautions in many ways and still are been very cautions you can not go on the train , shopping malls not even in 7/11 without a mask they won't let you in and they check your temperature and have sanitizers there for you i am proud in the way the government has handle the pandemic we have not had a signal case here in the past 20 days 😊
Thank you for your lovely comment and you have yourself a great weekend @dswigle and take care 👍

Sending tips with @tipU - how to guide.
Very kind of you thank you @dswigle 😊
Oh dear! This is such an amazing market! There are so much food. Does this mean that this market would be bustling with people later in the day?
I envy places such as this, but also quite reluctant to go to such places. Hahaha! My conflicting feelings about this COVID-19 thing. Sigh. 😐
(P.S. Your post reminds me of @hangin.)
Hi @gingbabida thanks for dropping by actually this is not as what you would call a closed in or open market as such it's just one long street with all the locals vendors putting out what they do best everyday and you will find a street full of vendors like this in every suburb of Bangkok city it serves foods to there local community of that suburb it really is amazing to see all what they have to offer and this is done everyday freshly cooked from home.
With covid-19 we have not had a case here in the past 20 days but i still am wearing a mask when i am outdoors and everyone or most are doing still doing the same.
Oh, I see. I thought it was a huge market, with the enermous pictures you have uploaded!
I'm happy to learn that the virus is not spreading in your place. Here we recently have one positive from our city, a person who came home from overseas.
Take extra care, as we don't know if there are virus undetected lurking around. 😢
Amazing what you can find in one street 😊
And you take care and stay safe have a great weekend 👍
Yay!

All scenes very similar to Cambodia, but cleaner and more modern. Thailand is such a high-tech place.
