My First Post On Market Friday - Kulende Market

Hello hivers, its a great privilege for me to partake in the #marketfriday task. It is my first time here and i am really excited to he a part of the great community.

It was really a sunny day today and i needed to visit the market to get some ingredients for my cooking today. I decided to go to a nearby market that answers the bane KULENDE MARKET in a part in Ilorin,Kwara State,Nigeria.

My plan was to prepare melon soup with vegetables so i needed to get cow skin, beef and vegetables from the market.

The market was really so clumsy that taking of pictures was really so difficult but i had to give a try to snap these little pictures of the things i got from the market.

It can be difficult sometimes to stop and take photos in a busy market! And some people don't like it if you are taking a picture of a street scene and they are in the photo. Thanks for joining in the Market Friday Fun! :)

You are so correct. Few of these pictures were taken unaware. Here, they see taking pictures as something else as they turn it to a fight and all.

Welcome to #MarketFriday, @oladele-art! Sorry, I am so late in the reply! But, I am happy to see you posting into it. I do understand about the pictures and the smaller markets sometimes don't want pictures. Most times, I will ask and they will allow me to take them, even smiling for the camera. Other times, some want me to pay for a picture. :))

I do the best I can and that is all I can do. I think you did a wonderful job and most of #MarketFriday is showing how different our cultures are and again, how much we are alike. I love this big ole world we live in and I love sharing how we all live. It has been such a great experience with all the wonderful posts people send me.

Were you able to get all the ingredients you needed? I once asked someone what you do with cow skin and asked if you make soup with it. Now, I can see that you do. You have solved a mystery for me! :)) I enjoyed your post and hope to see you back again! Thank you! I want to thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday! Each week, I post for the challenge to provide a different look of American culture, some of it over the top and some, everyday things. Sometimes, I just show places that I have gone to, all having an entry fee to qualify it for the #MarketFriday tag! It is a challenge to find new things during the pandemic, but, we still have to live, so we have been able to pull it off. It shows off how much we are alike and how different life can be. In the end, it makes it an experience that I look forward to. I appreciate the love and support you give to #MarketFriday! It Is heartwarming to see how many posts into the challenge, including you. Thank you! Truly! Your participation adds a unique flavor to the mix. I just love clicking on the link and having a new world open up, right before my very eyes! Thank you again for being a part of all this! It was lovely! I hope you have a wonderful week!

Wow. Thank you so much for the support and encouragement. Your comment has shed more light to what #marketfriday is all about now.

Most importantly, I am glad to have been able solve the puzzle of what cow skin is used for.
But let me just mention some food types that it is used for.

  • porridge
  • vegetable
  • sauce
  • stew
  • berbecue

Thank you so much. I really appreciate. Hoping to visit a new market this Friday.
