Market Friday Times Square

A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Steemit, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and daily challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.

For this weeks post, I am revisiting Times Square all be it virtually by looking through my photo folders, I normally have photos ready to go in advance for this challenge, but today was a quick edit and prepare for this post, and looking ta the photos now as I am putting them into the post perhaps they look a bit dark and moody, that wasn't intentional, perhaps because I am tired, the night before last due to some family drama I didn't get any sleep and last night I slept for 6 hours but woke at 4AM and couldn't get back to sleep even though I am feeling tired. so that may have affected my editing.

Starting with this shot of the square and all the neon advertising.

Always bright in Times square with all the lights and advertising, these were taken around 7Am in the morning so it was still fairly dark at the time, but not with all the neon lights.

And even though Times Square is clearly a Market and tourist spot, I thought I would include an actual shop or two in the post ;)

and another shop in Times Square, a shop my Wife and Daughter in Law often pop into if we come across on in the mall

And that’s all folks

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

We haven't started Team USA on Hive yet but no doubt it will come shortly

For once I actually enjoyed seeing bright lights of the city, I must be going stir crazy.... Cities are not my scene, however your photography manages to bring them to life in a different way, perhaps seeing is one thing living in it is another!

What a weird coincidence! I woke up today at 4 in the morning and couldn't sleep afterwards so I did some editing and post writing!
I hope the family drama you are mentioning is not something too bad.
Your pictures look pretty nice :)

The deserted photos might make the art museum snap a few more for your grandkids 👍

Ahh... Times Square (in SF, we have Union Square). It make s me wonder how foot traffic is like there now-a-days. I recall the ambiance when I was there many years ago. None like it... so much hustle and bustle of a different kind.
Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos, and for making me remember!
Have a great day, my friend @tattoodjay, be safe and take care 🥰🌺🤙

Great shots! Quite a difference from the pictures I have seen lately of the square. Talk about a ghost town!

Ohh yeah for sure, I always went there early morning when it was quiet, but WOW seeing it now at peak time like a ghost town is crazy

This is how we know New York - traffic, yellow cabs and neon lights - the city that never sleeps, but I think now it has found some sleep and will wake up soon to be busier than before.

I can imagine it must be really strange for you to see the now empty streets where you have been walking every day between so many people.

And here it is about opposite since the restrictions have been loosened: You see many people everywhere and there's a lot more traffic on the streets - some places look like before, but almost everybody is wearing a mask.

My daughter has one more month off school and my son hasn't got any information when he has to go back to work.

On Monday I will go to the office again, but it is a short week with only 4 working days and then I'll have my probably last week off, what means that our "normal" office life might begin again. I have somehow become used to work only every second week though ;)

It will be hard to adjust to working each and every week after this time, but it will be good to return to some form of normal for sure

That's so right - every second week off was really nice, although I couldn't do much or go further away - it was better than to go to work ;) lol

You know I am totally addicted to Times Square! Although when we were teens, we went to find the naked cowboy (although not really naked, he just appeared so as he hid his body behind the guitar!)

You always pull off a great post, it doesn't matter if it is from Connecticut or NY! You have mastered the skill of both! I can never get enough of either! Thank you!

It is always a pleasure to see you join #MarketFriday. It is because of people like yourself that the challenge has become a success. There are times that it is so difficult to get a post together, to put so much effort when you have so little time. There is a certain sense of warmth in my heart, and it is that of being thankful.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

How to Participate:
Go to the market! Any market will do! Food, Clothing, Plant or Animal, if you wish. You can go to the zoo or an art auction. Anywhere or anything that you pay money for a service. I once went to a nail salon.
Take pictures! Be creative (or not)
Tell us a little bit about the market, what brought you here?
Post the picture(s)
Don’t forget to use the MarketFriday Community to post from or hashtag it! #MarketFriday by @dswigle If you hashtag it, drop the link to your post here so I can easily find them
It is always interesting to see the different markets around the globe! C’mon! Show me your market shots! I eagerly await them!

#MarketFriday loves you!
