FRUIT SHOPPING | MARKET FRIDAY INITIATIVE

Hello hivers.

Today is Friday. Thank God it's Friday. How are you doing today and I hope things are getting better gradually in your country? I mean is there a positive change in respect to the lockdown measures for the Covid-19 pandemic. Most countries have relaxed their lockdown measures and people can go back to their daily activities but still embracing the necessary precautions such as use of face masks in public places and social distancing.

We can go to the markets now 😁

As the weekend approaches it wouldn't be a bad idea to get some fruits for some chilled homemade smoothie, right?
I went to a fruit market in the heart of Lugbe area of Abuja. There are varieties of fruits at this market and the fruit you didn't see in this market does not exist. LOL. They sell both in small quantities and large quantities. I didn't go into the main market because I'm just buying a few items, so I had to get everything at the entrance to the market.
I bought pineapples, banana, watermelon, oranges and some apple. The prices are reasonable and affordable.

See more view of the market below

Open fruit markets like this are always bustling with people, so unusual during lock-down not to be out enjoying peoples company outdoors.

Great variety of fruits on display have yourself a wonderful weekend.

Yes, that's true. It's always busier than this on a normal day without the coronavirus pandemic. But it will get better by the day, hopefully.

Thanks for the tips.

Such a diverse selection of fresh fruit here! A wonderfully abundant market! It looks almost like before the pandemic, doesn't it? I can only imagine how long it took someone to set that market up and keep it looking so nice.

I notice that nobody is wearing a mask anymore? Not even one person. And I think it is probably hard to remain socially distant in markets like that as things are put in close. There is not the room to spread out like they want us to. So, I guess I would be wearing a mask. :) I am a germaphobe that way. I just don't need to bring COVID home to my family! It is nice to see things getting back to normal, or the new normal, but, anything is better than sitting home and letting the world go by! Thanks so much for the awesome entry!

It's almost business as usual. The market is fuller than this if it were not for the pandemic. Well, a lot of people have ditched the use of face mask for one reason or another. I'm guilty of that too anyways. I have it with me but in my pocket. The intensity of the virus have dropped to a certain extent around here.

Thanks for your time and the tip 🤗

I can see that. Of course, you know better. The areas here that have declared open and mask free are suddenly shooting up in numbers. But, we had a lot more cases than you.

I am happy that it is disappearing from your landscape.
