Happy #MarkeyFriday, guys!

Finally, the usual rituals and processes slowly return to our lives. And #MarkeyFriday is back.
Quarantine allowed us to re-evaluate the usual routine. After all, we are used to not going to the hairdresser (as an example), because there is no time or opportunity, or no need. But it is our choice, and we make it.

During the lockdown, I began to buy more online. However, the spectrum of products has grown smaller, and service is worse. Delivery takes much longer, I have to wait longer for feedback. And one of my orders... it seems that I will not receive any goods or money at all ... It also happens, this is the price I paid for this experience.

Although there are objective reasons for all this, it is difficult for us to lower our expectations. We do not agree with the worse, we deserve the best! Don't we?

Нарешті в наше життя повертаються звичні ритуали і процеси. Ось і #MarkeyFriday повернулась.
Карантин дав нам змогу по новому оцінити звичайні буденні можливості. Адже ми звикли до того, що не йдемо до перукарні (як приклад), бо немає часу чи можливості, або нема потреби. Але це наш вибір, і він у нас є.

За час карантину я стала більше купувати онлайн. Щоправда, вибору стало менше, а якісь послуг гірша. Доставка займає набагато більше часу, на зворотній зв'язок треба чекати довше. А за одним моїм замовленням я, здається, взагалі не отримаю ні товару, ні грошей... І таке буває, це тепер ціна мого досвіду.

Хоч для всього цього є об'єктивні причини, нам важко знизити свої очікування. Ми не погоджуємося на гірше, ми заслуговуєм на краще! Чи не так?

So, as soon as the opportunity arose, I did not hesitate to make an appointment to visit my favorite nail salon. I have long wanted to take a photo and show it to you, but it's always crowded despite the high prices, and I wanted you to see what I like about it - a special atmosphere and design.

The day of my visit was gloomy and rainy, and I was glad to sign up for the morning, right after the opening. Firstly, I like it when there are few people (a business owner would disagree with me here), and secondly, it is good that you can start a gray day with bright colors. Isn't it a miracle?

Отож, як тільки з'явилась можливість, я не задумуючись записалась на візит до улюбленого манікюрного салону. Давно хотіла зробити фото і показати вам, але там завжди людно попри високі ціни, а мені хотілось, щоб Ви побачили те, що мені в ньому подобається - особлива атмосфера і дизайн.

День мого візиту був похмурий і дощовий, і я була рада, що записалася на ранок, одразу після відкриття. По-перше, я люблю, коли мало людей (власник бізнесу зі мною б тут не погодився), а по-друге, добре, що можна почати сірий день із яскравих фарб. Хіба не диво?

I am familiar with one salon business owner. Long ago, he made repairs in his hair salon. During the time when the salon was closed, he invested a lot of time and money in design, work with staff, in a new list of services. For a small town, both the price and the design were sensational. He once said, "I want a person who comes here to see at a glance that it's expensive."

Since then, I have changed the city of residence, and the trends have changed a lot. When I come here, I don't feel "It's expensive" right from the entrance. Instead, I feel comfortable and caring, everyone is always simple and friendly. I always look forward to this day as a little holiday. And when I leave them, I am always delighted with the result. These fragile hard-working bees never let me down or disappointed me. It's very cool when both customers and employees are happy. So, the business is designed correctly.

У мене є знайомий власник салонного бізнесу. Колись давно він робив ремонт у своєму салоні. За час, поки салон був закритий, власник багато часу і коштів вклав в дизайн, в роботу з персоналом, в новий список послуг. Для невеликого міста і прайс, і дизайн були сенсаційними. Якось він сказав: "Я хочу, щоб людина, яка сюди заходить, з першого погляду бачила, що тут дорого."

Відтоді я змінила місто, та і тенденції дуже змінились. Коли я заходжу сюди, у мене немає відчуття "дорого" просто з порогу. Натомість я відчуваю затишок і турботу, всі завжди прості і привітні. Я чекаю цього дня завжди як маленького свята. А коли я від них іду, я завжди у захваті від результату. Ці тендітні працьовиті бджілки ні разу мене не підвели і не розчарували. Це дуже круто, коли і клієнти, і працівники щасливі. Отже, бізнес побудований правильно.

Sitting in the client's chair, I looked at the TV screen between phone calls. There was a series about the relationship between employer and employees. It reminded me how much has changed in Ukraine over the last two decades. The former Soviet system of relations was punitive. Fear of punishment or deprivation of something was the greatest motivation.

I remember my shock and distrust when I first heard what is now called Wellbeing. The employer is sincerely interested in his employees being satisfied and happy not only with work but also with their life in general. It was another, fantastic world. How is this possible? What kind of work is this without discipline and control??

Researches and experience indicate that this approach works. Of course, after such a long time being apart, we will all be extremely happy to see each other :D But the world has already changed, we can accept it or ignore it as long as we can.

Сидячи в кріслі клієнта, я між телефонними дзвінками поглядала на екран телевізора. Там йшов серіал про стосунки між роботодавцем, начальником і працівниками. Він нагадав мені, як багато змінилось в Україні за останні два десятиліття. Колишня радянська система відносин була каральною. Страх покарання чи позбавлення чогось був найбільшою мотивацією.

Памятаю мій шок і недовіру, коли вперше почула про те, що зараз називають Wellbeing. Роботодавець щиро зацікавлений в тому, щоб його працівники були задоволені не тільки роботою, а і життям взагалі. Це був інший, фантастичний світ. Як таке можливо? Що це за робота без дисципліни і контролю??

Дослідження і досвід показує, що цей підхід працює і дає результат. Звичайно, після такої довгої розлуки якийсь час ми всі будемо надзвичайно щасливі один одного бачити. Але світ уже змінився, ми можемо це прийняти чи ігнорувати, доки зможемо.

Frankly speaking, on that day my morning started with these delicate and fragrant peonies. It seems no one's ever presented me peonies before ...

Було б нечесно не згадати, що насправді того дня мій ранок почався з ніжних і ароматних півоній. Здається, мені раніше ніколи не дарували півоній...

Today we went to the supermarket, together for the first time in a while, and I think I lost my shopping skills. My favorite cookware store is already open, and I have wanted a new frying pan for so long ... Today we bought it. At home, I found out that the pan was not the right size. So, we will have to exchange it for another one tomorrow.

But look at this sky!.. Life goes on, and it's beautiful!

А сьогодні ми їздили у супермаркет, разом вперше за довгий час, і здається я втратила навики шопінгу. Мій улюблений магазин посуду уже працює, а я так давно хочу нову сковорідку... Сьогодні ми її купили. Дома виявилось, що сковорідка не того розміру, що треба. Отже, доведеться завтра її обміняти на іншу.

Зате погляньте, яке небо!!.. Життя продовжується, і воно прекрасне!
