NANIKA'S JOURNEY
Hello Hoomans! Hello Hive Pets! I'm back again with another story about one of my pets. I already mentioned her several times in my blogs and it's about time to bring the spotlight to her.
Disclaimer: As of this writing, Nanika is now in Negros Occidental with my family.
When we moved to Talisay, we only had Wacky. But after almost 2 years of staying in our home, my sister and I decided to adopt another dog. We intentionally want something white and black dog to resemble the color of the panda which is my sister's favorite animal. Anyways, I saw a story posted by an IG friend that they are looking for people to adopt puppies. Just in time when we were thinking to adopt a dog, I messaged him and thankfully the owner of the puppies live around Talisay.
We exchange messages and the family said, they will vaccinate the puppy first then they will deliver it to us. It was December 2017 when I got a message that the owner of the puppy is on the way to our house. I met them by the main gate and they handed me the puppy. It was a brown, female puppy. I brought her home. When I put her down she immediately ran off towards the gate and I didn't realize she could fit in the space between the railings. I was able to hold her but she managed to bite me.
During that time there was construction going on in our house, one of the guys placed plywood to avoid the puppy from getting out. For obvious reason, Wacky didn't get along with the puppy. When I left for work, I messaged my sister about the puppy and I gave her the authority to name the puppy. She named her Nanika. It's a Japanese word that means "something". I personally like the name so we stick to it.
As time goes by Nanika and Wacky got along. Wacky allowed Nanika to stay on the ground floor while he claimed the thrown on the second floor. They both get so excited whenever we arrive from work. My sister spends most of the time with them since she arrives home earlier than me. They have time to walk to the park. They were like our fur siblings/babies.
When I moved to Dauin, I brought her with me together with Chiyo. It was her first time to travel and I felt that an adult dog, it was frightening for her. She was making noises and worried about the trip. But when we arrived, She and Chiyo had so much fun roaming around the area of my quarantine and after my quarantine, we were able to go by the beach, we went to vacant lots where they run so free and meet new dogs and hoomans alike.
Before moving to Negros, my sister and I had a talk that Nanika will be moved to our hometown with her. When I was about to move back to Cebu, my sister and I decided to meet up between the borders to give her stuff from Cebu and Nanika. It was a brief encounter with my sister and I'm amazed that Nanika still recognized my sister after several years of not seeing each other
That was the last time I saw Nanika because I wasn't able to visit her in my hometown. I'm hoping to go home this March to see my family and be reunited with Nanika. I'm excited to see her again and I hope she would still recognize me. How about you, do you have a pet who got separated from you? How do you feel about it? Please let me know in the comment section below! I would love to know.
Here are some bonus pics of Nanika photobombing my photos for the gram!

Dear @asasiklause, You are very deligent! The act of raising dogs is very difficult and expensive. I once had a dog, and dog food was expensive, especially cleaning up dog feces was terrible.😄
By the way, nanika is a nice dog! Can you speak japanese?
I dont speak Japanese. My sister is just fond of Japanese culture and language. Thats why she decided to use a Japanese name for Nanika.
Raising dogs is trullu expensive but the happiness they brought to our household is priceless.
I used to have a pet that were separated from me, mainly because I moved to another place. But when I came back, she died. I hope nanika would still recognize you. I generally think they don't forget that easily especially if you've spend quite a bit of time with them in the past.
I hope so too. Several dogs have been separated with me and all of them have different attitude and character. I hope so too. I hope she will still recognize me. Sometimes dogs feel that when they are given away, they thought they were abandoned. I hope she didnt think that way. Thank you for your comment! 🤗🤗🤗.
Also feel bad for your story about your dog. She's propably running free in dog heaven now.😔😔😔
