White buffalo - a special pet of Vietnamese farmers

"What is your favorite pet?" For Vietnamese farmers, the most common answer will be a buffalo. The Vietnamese have a saying "Having a buffalo allows one to start a business." to express the importance of the buffalo in the Vietnamese farmers' life. The buffalo can be a tireless tractor, a great carrier and a source of organic fertilizer for plants.
In particular, the white buffalo is a rare and precious type of buffalo, which is more and more loved. The word "white buffalo" in Vietnamese means "Trâu bạc", in which the word "bạc" means "money". Below are pictures of a white buffalo, a favorite pet of an old farmer who I had the opportunity to visit during my business trip to a mountainous region.
