Meet Toph: The Newest member of my family

Greetings my beautiful people and animal lovers, today I come with a very special post because a new pet has arrived in my family that has already started to make big messes despite its size. He is under the care of my nephew, but we already know that in the end we adults are the ones who end up taking care of them sometimes, especially when these animals are not as much fun as a dog or a cat. However, in the few days he has been at home he has already earned a good place.

Saludos mi gente linda y amante de los animales, hoy vengo con un post muy especial porque ha llegado a mi familia una nueva mascota que ya ha empezado a hacer sus grandes desastres a pesar de su tamaño. Está bajo el cuidado de mi sobrino, pero ya sabemos que al final los adultos somos quienes terminando cuidando de estos algunas veces, sobretodo cuando estos animales no son tan divertidos como un perrooun gato. SIn embargo, en los pocos días que tiene en casa ya ha sabido ganarse un buen lugar.

The story of how we got this little one is very cute, we went last weekend to visit @jauregui98's house because his niece was having her birthday, (@greciahello will tell us about this madness) and at some point while I was working Alejandro came to me with this little one in his hand and told me; "Jau's dad gave her to me, she will be called Toph like the teacher of Tierra de Aang". And that's how she came to us, she was put in a little shoe box and came back home with us.

La historia de como obtuvimos a esta pequeñita es muy tierna, fuimos el fin de semana pasada a visitar a casa de @jauregui98 porque su sobrina estaba de cumple, (ya @greciahello nos contará de esta locura) y en algún momento mientras yo estaba trabajando me llegó Alejandro con esta pequeñita en su mano y me dijo; "El papá de Jau me la regaló, se llamará Toph como la maestra de Tierra de Aang". Y de esta manera llegó a nosotros, la pusieron en una cajita de zapatos y volvió a casa con nosotros.

Although she looks huge on the cover, she is tiny, so much so that we missed her even when we had her in our field of vision. We immediately knew that she was dehydrated and quite malnourished, surely she had been wandering outdoors for a long time.

Aunque en la portada se ve grandísima, es minúscula, tanto que se nos pierde aún teniéndola en nuestro campo de visión. En seguida supimos que estaba deshidratada y bastante desnutrida, seguro tenía mucho tiempo vagando a la intemperie.

I started to gather information and a friend suggested me to put sand in the box and I also looked for information about their diet; tortoises are omnivores, they feed on roots, herbs, flowers and any small vertebrates such as lizards, they love to hide, so it is good to have a little house where they can hide.

Empecé a reunir información y un amigo me sugirió que le pusiera arena a la caja y además busqué información sobre su dieta; las tortugas de tierra son omnívoros, se alimentan de raices, hierbas flores y cualquier vertebrado pequeño como lagartijas, les encanta esconderse, por lo que es bueno tenerle una casita en la que puedan esconderse.

Alejandro, very excited about his new pet, grabbed a whole space on the balcony and created a habitat for him, even decorating a bamboo pole with which we delimited the area with shells on top.

Alejandro, muy emocionado por su mascota nueva, agarró todo un espavio en el balcón y le creó un habitat, incluso decoró un palo de bambú con el que delimitamos el área con conchas encima.

And that's how Toph's area was left, where he only plays for about 5 minutes, while he eats and drinks water because he soon goes back to his little house.

Y así quedó elárea de Toph, en el que solo juega unos 5 minutos, mientras come y toma agua porque en seguida vuelve a su casita.
