Sad Story of the 3 Little Puppies

Our family never had a pet for the longest time. My wife doesn’t like dogs although my kids do but we never had the chance to have one in the house until one day my son brought one little dog home.

He called it Roxy. He told us that Roxy will stay in our home temporarily as no one in the house of the original owner can look after her this time.

So Roxy stayed home but not for a short time. I think it’s been there for a little more than a month. But during that time the kids never had a relationship with Roxy, I mean there was no attachment, no master-pet relationship except for my son who was the one who took care of Roxy.

There were times that we encountered a few problems with the dog, to the extent that my wife really was mad and really wanted to get rid of the poor dog.

I understand my wife because Roxy never had undergone a vaccine so it is possible that it could transfer rabies to anyone bitten by her.

My wife fears that Roxy could accidentally bite someone and it would be our liability to compensate or provide for the anti-rabies vaccine and all and since she is working in a drug store she knows very well how much is the cost of those injectables.

To make the story short although it took some time, Roxy was evicted from the house. And it was about a year when my son came home one day with 3 little puppies.

My son told us that the three are Roxy’s offspring and that they have to stay home for a while. Actually, the owner of the puppies and Roxy was my son’s girlfriend, so they both raise Roxy and now these little cute puppies.

As expected there was commotion again in the house since my wife ever since really don’t like dogs and for reasons, I mentioned above. People in the house insist not to adopt the puppies although I know my little kids really wanted to keep them.

(This is Heyhey now, the son. He is now a little grown-up cute puppy. I still call him a puppy because he is not yet a full-blown dog. He still plays with stray cats outside, and he used to visit puppies and dogs in their cage in nearby houses.)

The puppies stayed in the house for weeks, until my son could not anymore convince my wife to allow him to keep the puppies.

So he took the 2 little puppies back to his girlfriend’s house and leave one home whom he named Heyhey.

My son took care of Heyhey until it grows bigger. Heyhey has become a friend of my two little boys and they were already attached to the puppy. But still, my wife, my aunt, and my eldest daughter still hated the thought of having a dog in the house.

When we heard that the other two puppies already died, for unknown reasons, we felt pity for Heyhey. Had we sent him back also maybe Heyhey is also dead right now. I don’t know maybe they were not able to really take care of the dogs or just leave them stray outside and were hit by rushing cars.

Although Heyhey stayed outside, he is allowed to come inside the house once in a while. He is so lovely and he really recognizes all of us. And this time when Heyhey is already a grown-up, he always wanted to come with us when we go out.

How? This became hard for us because when we go out by car or by motorcycle and especially by walk when we need to have a walk or exercise outside, he always wanted to come with us. In fact, he could run after us as far as 1 kilometer or 2 until he will lose us. Good that he still finds his way back home.

Heyhey doesn't like to eat processed dog foods and he doesn't have a favorite food. We used to buy different kinds of cooked foods for him to eat every day.

The funniest moment I had with him was when I open our pizza store and he just jumps and settles on the pizza table like waiting for his order.

This time Heyhey is already being loved by everyone in the house including my wife. They are not afraid of Heyhey anymore and even play with him once in a while.
