My good deed Sunday.

Crossing a main public road can be dangerous for these little ones.
001.jpg

He seemed to know when to take a gap between the speeding cars.

Something told me to stop the car and I acted upon my instincts.
Cars speed along this road and a small guy like this stands no chance when a car collects him.
But there was another little guy that came running up to follow the one that crossed over.
Come and watch this.

Yay, he made it safely across the road, but we had another problem.
002.jpg

This little guy appeared and he did not have the other one's confidence.
007.jpg

So, he decided to follow the guy by entering the road, but I shouted at him to come back, as there was a car coming.
004.jpg

Guess what? He listened to my command and scampered back.
005.jpg

Sitting again as if he was waiting for me to tell him when to cross.
008.jpg

I saw the gap and I shouted. "Now! Go, go, go" and he scampered off.
009.jpg

Midway over he slackened the pace but I shouted at him again.
010.jpg

Now just look at this thank you. Makes one to feel so warm inside.

Such is life isn't isn't it? One continously gets tested by certain situations in life and one can contnue to blindly stumble forth, or one can become active.
By active I mean that one can respond to the need and safety of others, knowning that it will be remembered when one finds the self in a tight spot.
Can you believe that Marian said to me that we should keep a bucket and a 5 liter bottle of water in the car, so that she can bath them when we might see them again hahaha.
So now I must not only go around as a dog traffic officer, but I must also offer the stray dogs a free grooming service.
Imagine that.

Care, kindness and love can turn one's life around.

And That's All Friends.

I was driving in an automatic car on a rainy night after work, as my left leg was in a plaster casing. when I hit a big dog on the highway.
The dog was dead and the car was severely dameged, so I had to walk for several miles in the rain.
Accidents happen and people should take care of their dogs, but there will always be strays.

Most definitely need a good wash down, Marian has the right idea. Poor little furry friends don't stand a chance in traffic, not all owners care the way they ought to.

Woody got his first shower today in warmer weather, he sure did enjoy it!

Hahaha, I can just imagine myself standing next to national road with a dog in a bucket.
If someone stops to ask what we are doing, I will simply tell him that we are trying to drown the dog.
Just for kicks you know.

Breaks ones heart seeing how many dogs are roaming of late, good bath, some food and they would love you forever.... You would need to live on a farm 😄

One time I was walking on one of the main roads here and there were a few geese that just slooooowly meandered into traffic without a care. I was waving at cars to be sure they saw them, and they slowed down and crawled around them. Geese are just like "Whatever, you'll slow down for ME, human." 😂

So great to watch them and we also saw an Egytian goose with her babies crossing a ver busy road. All of the cars stopped and people were hanging out of their car windows to look at them.

That poor dog!
You can tell by its dirty paws that it's been walking for days.
I wonder if he gets to eat at all!!!
Oh, poor dog!!!

It's a township dog and they feed on scraps and hand outs. Not a life that you and I would ever want.

Absolutely! Some people find it hard to make a choice on the side of kindness. 😁

So true and one can only hope that many more will change their minds.
But it is a forlorn hope.

Oh yes, you are right and that's why we always stop when we see animals near a road.
I have even helped drunk people to cross the road.
One has to keep an eye out all of the time.
