My cat has been with me for 8 years [ENG|ESP]

This is her on her first day in what would become her forever home at my apartment, she was recently sterilized and was roaming in the streets.

When I first saw her I didn't know if she was aggressive or not, but she didn't look dirty or sick, she was only weak due to her surgery so it was easier for me to approach her.
I didn't pick her up immediately, at first I thought she was just a street cat or that she lived nearby.
The next day I saw her again on the same spot, she spent the night on the parking lot, I saw her first the previous night when I parked my motorcycle in a hidden corner, the next morning when I left for work she was still there.

When I came back from work she was still there, that's when I approach her un sure of her reaction but as soon as we were near I could see she was very sweet.

I went to the store to buy some food for her, but didn't took her to my apartment yet, I just fed her and posted her picture online to see if somebody lost her.

Long story short, no one claimed her, the vet checked on her and said she was healthy but needed rest to recover properly from the sterilization, I don't know if someone sterilized her and simply let her on the street or if she escaped or what, but I gladly gave her a permanent home.

Esta es ella en su primer día en el que se convertiría en su hogar por siempre en mi departamento, estaba recientemente esterilizada y vagando en las calles.
Cuando la vi por primera vez no sabía si era agresiva o no, pero no se veía sucia ni enferma, solo estaba débil debido a su cirugía así que fue fácil acercarme.
No la recogí inmediatamente, al inicio pensé que solo era un gato callejero o que vivía cerca. Al siguiente día la volví a ver en el mismo lugar, pasó la noche en el estacionamiento, la vi primero la noche anterior cuando estacioné mi moto en un rincón escondido y a la mañana siguiente que me fui a trabajar seguía ahí.
Cuando regresé del trabajo aún seguía ahí, fue entonces que me acerque insegura de su reacción pero tan pronto estuvimos cerca pude ver que era muy dulce.
Fui a la tienda para comprarle comida pero no la llevé a mi departamento todavía, solo la alimenté y publiqué su foto en línea para ver si alguien la había perdido.
Para acortar la historia, nadie la reclamó, el veterinario la revisó y dijo que estaba sana pero necesitaba reposo para recuperarse bien de la esterilización, no sé si alguien la esterilizó y la dejó en la calle o si se escapó o qué, pero con gusto le di un hogar permanente.

She adapted quickly... and I have to say she trained me haha, she woke me up early to feed her, she called my attention when she wanted her litter box to be clean, she was the queen of the apartment and she knew it... she still is...

Se adaptó rápido... y debo decir que ella me entrenó jaja, me despertaba temprano para alimentarla, llamaba mi atención cuando quería que limpiara su arenero, era la reina del departamento y lo sabía... aun lo es...

She's been a great companion through the years, she follows me around the apartment, she likes to be close to me when I'm watching tv, when I work out she wants to use the mat too, when I come back home she always greets me at the door.

She doesn't like to go out, she's barely been out in the street again, if I take her out she gets really nervous and scared, so she stays inside and is happy that way, she loves a spot near the window where she can see the outside from a safe place.

Ha sido una excelente compañera por años, me sigue por el departamento, le gusta estar cerca de mi cuando estoy viendo la tv, cuando hago ejercicio quiere usar el tapete también, cuando regreso a casa siempre me recibe en la puerta.

No le gusta salir, casi no ha estado en la calle de nuevo, si la saco se pone muy nerviosa y asustada así que se queda dentro y es feliz así, le encanta un lugar cerca de la ventana donde puede ver el exterior desde un lugar seguro.

During this whole year of home office she's been working with me, she likes to sit on my lap and sleep, or if she's not sleeping she focuses on the screen and watches the pointer of the mouse move around. When she wants to be pet she meows and I stop until she stops purring.

And now during virtual meetings she always appears with me on screen, my coworkers ask for her when they don't see her on frame :P

She's not alone, I adopted a sister for her, my black cat Buffy, at first Whisky wasn't thrilled by this but it only took them a weekend to like each other, Whisky acted like a mother to Buffy, she taught her how to use the litter box and takes good care of her.

Durante este año de trabajo en casa ha estado trabajando conmigo, le gusta sentarse en mi regazo y dormir, o si no está durmiendo se enfoca en la pantalla y mira el puntero del mouse moverse por todos lados. Cuando quiere que la acaricie maulla y me detengo hasta que deja de ronronear.

Y ahora durante las reuniones virtuales siempre aparece conmigo en pantalla, mis compañeros de trabajo preguntan por ella cuando no la ven :P

No está sola, le adopté una hermana, mi gata negra Buffy, al principio Whisky no estaba encantada con esto pero solo les tomó un fin de semana para agradarse mutuamente, Whisky se portó como una madre para Buffy, le enseñó como usar el arenero y cuida muy bien de ella.

I'm really happy with both of them, at first it took me a while to get used to have Whisky and learn how to take good care of her but it's been 8 great years for both of us, taking Buffy along for the ride.

Estoy muy feliz con ambas, al inicio me tomó tiempo acostumbrarme a tener a Whisky y aprender como cuidarla bien, pero han sido 8 años geniales para ambas, llevando a Buffy también durante el viaje.
