MY 200 BROILER CHICKS ARE FINALLY HERE // LIFE OF A LIVESTOCK FARMER.

My 200 birds arrived today in the morning time. This is the second time I am rearing upto that amount of number. I normally reared 150 birds. Before now, I have done the needful by cleaning both the drinkers and the feeders, disinfecting, grinded their feed to smaller pieces so that they will be able to pick with their light beak.

Pick up.

When I went for pick up, used that opportunity to get multivitamin and glucose to ease stress from the birds because of the journey.

When I got home.

When I got home,I had to fill their drinkers with the water with glucose solution and also give them feeds.

All these need to be done before they were brought in into the pen. Today marked their first day

Looks like an interesting brood. Just a little advice. It is best to avoid telling the chicks what "broiler" means. If you do; you should say that the "broiler" refers to something unique about their origins and is not about their final destination.

Speaking of chickens, when I went to the store today the shelf for eggs was empty. There was a card telling of a national egg shortage. Eggs and chickens are likely to to jump in price.
