Learning To Read

in Home Edders5 months ago (edited)

We are learning our Phonics sounds. How we learn to read the easy way? We break down all the beginning sound of the word, combine each sound and read fast and loud.

Ooo.. I remember those days I used to teach my eldest on phonics. He had lots of books on it.
Then when it came to second boy, he skipped through it. Not sure if it was because of the brother or that we were too tired to teach him the basics

Beautiful memory.

I dont know if its only me, but usually we tend to relax at the succeeding children. Let's see on my case.

Thank you@ireenchew. Take care

We have a book for this and it seems daunting! We haven't started it yet but we are making small steps to introduce the way the letters sound, not just the letter itself. Our son has been getting better at recognizing a letter if I start to make the sound of it.

One thing we aren't looking forward to is not being able to spell a word out loud and not have him understand what we mean lol like saying "I might take him to the P A R K" if we aren't entirely sure about doing that, depending on the mood or weather haha.

My 4 years old son is enjoying this book. I have Jolly phonics 1 and 2. We finish the part one.

Lovely to know. Yes, I agree, every child is different and Learning at their own pace is important.
