Jaguares y mariposas: a self-empowerment book for girls of Mexican descent and about loving themselves.

📘I am very happy to have found this book because it is not only beautiful but also educational. Each page is filled with poetry that encourages girls to value their heritage. Each colorful page shows the beautiful ranges of hair texture, skin color, and eye shape. I love how this book highlights the Afro-Latino community that exists in Mexico.

This is entirely due to the work of activists seeking group visibility and protection against discrimination, and is the first step towards achieving protections against marginalization. Afro-Mexicans are more concentrated in the Costa Chica of Oaxaca and Guerrero, in the capital region, and in the communities of Veracruz and northern Mexico. "

My favorite quote is the statement that makes the reader repeat "We are Powerful, We are Beautiful" which means "We are powerful, we are beautiful". This bo9ok is available in English and Spanish.
