Another milestone reached: my upvote is worth $1+ for the first time ever!
Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!
This is something I was really looking forward to for a looong time and I am so happy to finally reach this milestone. Which one? This one! :)
Yeah, for the first time ever, my full upvote (at 100% voting power) is worth a whole dollar (even $1.12 at this moment actually). There are two things that finally made it possible for me - the current surge in the price of Hive and my constant effort to increase my Hive Power. An upvote, just one click, worth a dollar, how cool is that? :) Can you imagine this happening on Facebook? Facebook likes worth real dollars? People would go crazy! But here on Hive, it´s reality for many folks, now including me too :) I just wish I didn´t struggle with my voting power so much because in fact, my numbers usually look like this lately :D :/
That´s what you get when you upvote too often but it´s ok - just too much good stuff to curate in the past days and weeks. But whatever, even $0.50 is still cool, isn´t? Apparently, I have given out more than 520 upvotes to more than 160 different accounts in the past 7 days, which are probably my highest numbers ever too.
As I said in one of my recent posts, I am going to try and step up my curation game a bit further as I really enjoy this role. Moreover, there is just too much competition in the author arena here anyway these days. So keep those stunning posts coming guys, I will make sure to upvote as many of them as I can :) Also, as my regular readers already know, I host various contests and challenges when you can actually win my upvotes too so feel free to join any of them ;)

The last bull run was fun. I remember at 25k SP votes being worth something like 20$.
The fun times haven't even started yet.
That's some wild stuff. Let's hope we can continue this rate and gain a lot more attention for folks looking for an alternative to the mainstream platforms! I know some of my friends weren't interested before but that might change their tune now.

Better than nothing for sure! I think now that a lot more people are crossing the dust threshold for voting, they are getting a bit more aware of how voting habits can be adjusted to give votes but not give out too many.

Thanks man. Well, I have been having problems with my voting power for quite some time already. Some 170 people on autovote + manual curation + upvoting comments under my posts to reward engagement... Hard to keep some reasonable VP level with this :D
That's awesome! Congrats! My vote's getting there as well, a little over .5 at 100% which is amazing. I don't give out 100% upvotes too often though, because as you say, I want to give out votes to more people at a lower rate instead of giving a bunch of people a high vote. Slowly but surely the voting habits are paying off as well as the engagement!
Thank you! You do a good job yourself too :) Yeah, it finally feels like our votes can really make a difference. I know in some places, a dollar is still some money. I know it sounds like a cliche but Hive really has the potential to change people´s lives... I am so proud of what we are building here.
Completely agree with you! Without Hive, a lot of our fellow humans here who live in difficult areas like Venezuela would be a hell of a lot harder hit by everything. Hive has given them an opportunity to earn some money, sometimes more than they would in a regular job! That to me is one of my favorite reasons for being on here!
Exactly. And great example with our fellow Hivers from Venezuela. There are so many of them here and for them, being active on the chain can really make a huge difference in terms of the life quality in their country...

thank you. I think I would not be me without crazy goals so I want to reach that point by the end of this year. Now that I actually invested a bit of money into hive I guess I no longer can turn back😜 it is a shame that it took me years to learn about hive power up day or realize true potential of playing splinterlands...But better late than never.😜
Same here with crazy goals, already had a bunch of them here but actually most of them worked out well in the end:) Ok let´s do it like this: by the end of this year, you will be a dolphin and I will be an orca :) I actually increase my stake organically, only from my rewards, so it will be a real challenge for me but let´s do it!

Congratulations. Comparing my vote values from a few months ago when HIVE was at $0.1 to now is like light and day. I'll slowly grow my account and hopefully I'll reach a $1 vote soon enough.
