That Didn't Take Long

@soyrosa put together this post about Justin Sun taking over the Steem witnesses.

Here is the list from that post.

Out of curiosity, I decided to look at Steemit.com since Sun and puppets can do what they want.

Here is what I found.

Very interesting. I am sure the technical team at Steemit Inc is having a grand time now that all the technical talent left the building.

It would not surprise me that Sun, with control of the Witness pool, is trying to push through a hardfork.

Without the technical expertise who know Steem, it will be interesting to see if they can pull it off.

The blockchain went from solidly performing to on very shaky ground.

It's pretty sad to see the State of Steem at this point. It's still 'our' chain we built and love(d) so much, but it's unrecognizable at this point. And indeed, at this point I don't see who has the technical knowledge to help out when things go really wrong. But Justin has money, so who knows what he's capable to achieve and what people he's able to attract.

I will care and follow what happens to Steem for a long time. I'm afraid I won't like what I see in a few days, weeks or months time. But we'll see.

I agree with the money he has, if he cared about the blockchain he could make it into something tremendous. Sadly, I do not think that was his intention from the beginning.

Instead, he was out to destroy it from the beginning while pull all the assets over to Tron. Now he is stuck with a fractured community and an empty shell called Steemit Inc.

The talent left the building.

The hard fork to release the funds will occur in Steem.

I think you are right @chesatochi.

It seems like he is going to push through a fork as quickly as he can. He has the witness pool now so he is set on that end.

Best to power down steem power? Thoughts?

I'm powering down. When Sun started literally censoring posts on Steemit, I decided that was it for me. Up until that point I was going to continue posting on Hive and just hodl my Steem to see what he does with it. There's no value proposition now over there as far as I'm concerned. Not decentralized, not censorship resistant, not any different from one of the big mainstream social media, not worth my time.

Hard to tell. The thing about Sun is that if he is motivated, he can get Steem a lot of attention. I would think he could get them on a lot of exchanges.

The Chinese market is enormous and censorship isnt as big a deal to them as it is in the West.

That said, I am powering down since liquid STEEM provides more options. The Witnesses already were taken over by Sun.

Same here. Powering down and staying liquid. I would not be heartbroken if it turns to Tron

I'd like to see the dickhead run a pump and dump with Steem in about, oh, I don't know, 14 weeks or so... :)
