You've been a good boy or girl all year with all your Hive friends? Perfect, you are just a few steps away from getting an exclusive badge.

Why celebrate Saint Nicholas?

Saint Nicholas' Day, observed on December 6 in Western Christian countries, December 5 in the Netherlands and December 19 in Eastern Christian countries, is the feast day of Saint Nicholas.

It is celebrated with particular regard to his reputation as a bringer of gifts.

In Ukraine, children wait for St. Nicholas to come and to put a present under their pillows provided that the children were good during the year. Children who behaved badly may expect to find a twig or a piece of coal under their pillows.

In the Netherlands, "Dutch children put out a clog filled with hay and a carrot for Saint Nicholas' horse. On Saint Nicholas' Day, gifts are tagged with personal humorous rhymes written by the sender."

In the United States, one custom associated with Saint Nicholas Day is children leaving their shoes in the foyer on Saint Nicholas Eve in hope that Saint Nicholas will place some coins on the soles, for them to awake to.

It's not an event celebrated in the UK, but I saw it in Germany when I lived there. Seems like a bonus for kids where they have it.

The gift I would like is more time to get done all the stuff I wanted to do this year.

in Austria you go by foot and there's no donkey accompanying you, so I am sorry, but I don't have a carrot 🥕 prepared for you.
Also, here you have a thick book with you, wherein you can read whether one was a good boy or not. So I don't need to lie to you because you know everything anyway 😉

There's only one big wish I have: let the Hive raise to the moon that I can buy me my own car for photo trips.
Well, I have a car, but this one is occupied by my son to go to work and to drive around the lake with his girlfriend. I get it only when the fuel tank needs a refill 😂

I'm dreaming of a small stealth camper van which allows me to drive to my photo location the day before and sleep there till sunrise or start of a hike.
I don't mind getting up at 3 in the morning, but if then you have to drive a few hours it all turns into stress, what leads to bad photos many times.

now, when you mentioned the sunrise and dAwn, the idea of a car (camping van) becomes clearer, I totally understand the shapes, why exactly you need it. this is your plot, what you love to shoot, and often shoot on a highest quality level. something different to what I am doing myself. Unfortunately, they don't have the explanation post anymore linked in the comments of investinthefutur, but it was in German only anyway.

I have read that are going to make some changes to their system, but simply said, you had to ask to be included on the list and that you are allowed to use the invest_vote command.

There was no investment needed when I joined last year, but I have delegated a small amount to the accounts the bot uses to vote.
But I would wait until they have made their changes to the system. Maybe they will add an English explanation too 😉

Dear Saint Nicholas,
I don't have the foggiest idea why you need carrots and from where you have a donkey. I thought that you use a herd of reindeers but nevermind.
I only would like to get ice cream and doughnut on Christmas to maintain a constant weight and be the same fluffy girl as always!

My dear Saint Nicholas.

I was a good girl for most of the year, I did not go out, I behaved well, but do not believe that because of good people, but because of the quarantine that left us all locked up. And incidentally, I swept and cleaned the front for my neighbors. And help them put Christmas in their homes.

Fui una buena chica durante casi todo el año, no salí, me porte bien, pero no te creas que por buena gente, sino por la cuarentena que nos dejó encerrados a todos. Y de paso les barría y limpiaba el frente a mis vecinos. Y los ayude a poner la navidad en sus casas.

Querido Santa este año ha sido muy duro para todos por la pandemia, te pido salud, paz y felicidad para todas las personas que lo necesiten, para mí te pido mucha salud para seguir adelante y poder ayudar a quienes lo necesitan y que pueda encontrar el amor, ser feliz y tener paz. Agradecida estoy con la oportunidad de estar dentro de esta maravillosa comunidad de Hive que para mí ha sido de mucha ayuda económica porque he pasado por momentos un poco difíciles en cuanto a solvencia económica... Aquí te estaré esperando con una taza de un buen chocolate caliente con malvaviscos y también te dejaré servida una hallaca jejeje que es una comida típica de aquí de mi país Venezuela 💜 para que la pruebes y quedes deleitado con tan rico plato.

  1. all done, and done on most, cause I like the badge post.
  2. I would love to have a Megahive, (note NOT a Meagtron Tron is a bad word), Rocket Launcher. I would then use it to strap 5 hive to and send it toward the moon. That might start Hive on it's way to the moon. If you don't have a Megahive Rocket launcher, maybe one of those little Bumble Bee camaro's to putter our way to at least the 9th fairway.

dear @saint-nicolas, it worked almost perfectly! I pumped it like a baloon, it became bigger, fatter, nicer, but at 6,96 it said: phewwwwwww! and then, it said: ooooooopss, and... after that suddenly lost its weight to zero. what did I did wrong? and what now am I supposed to do?..

well, as we are on same blockchain, its no surprise we share same dreams! we may have different plans for investment of our earnings, but it doesnt change anything in thw whole picture, right?

the Santa was so kind! after a pause for consideration he have found a solution and brought me a cycle pump! to inflate the Hice token to 7 dollars (not sure if that was an exclusive or not - I didnt check, maybe he copypasted same digital present to all commenters in the thread?..) and I dared to make an experiment... sadly, I have to tell you that as soon as I pumped a Hive token to 6.96 mark -- that baloon said : ooops! - and cracked to zero. which means, we still ahve to find another solution.

Well, as soon as the Hive has reached the 6.95 mark I have sold all my Hive and now I am rich, I can buy my van and retire 🤣 ... just another dream 😉

No, each comment has been individual - Saint Nicolas has brought different gifts to everyone, it seems. I have got a lottery ticket which win some day in the future ... probably ... hopefully :)

I wanted to get a free ticket, but had so much to do that I have forgotten about it. But I don't have any VR gear to enjoy the fest and to be honest, I'm no party guy either. So I will wait curious what you all have tell how it was ☺️

I've been a pretty good girl ummm mostly good errr as good as could be expected well, I haven't been all that naughty. Frankly, it's been tough to behave being cooped up in my place without good role models around to encourage me. Therefore, I'm asking that you give me and everyone in the Hive community a transporter, so that for the next @hivefest (assuming that-virus-that-shall-not-be-named has gone away by then) @roelandp won't have to worry about figuring out a place we can all get to easily (although this upcoming virtual HiveFest5 sounds like it's going to be a blast!)
