What does Hive Mean To Me?

Hye, liam here. This is my response to @theycallmedan's post encouraging Hivers to write about why they have migrated to Hive and what Hive means to them.

Here are my answers to the four questions.

What is HIVE to you?

I see Hive as what steem was supposed to be. Hive is what the core of steem was but without the influence of a single entity. Even before Justin came in and nuked steem, steemit had a negative affect on steems reputation, the ninja mined stake didn't exactly shout out decentralization and the sale to justin just cemented that belief.

Hive is in my view, a collective effort to have a social blockhain that rewards users in any creative way possible whilst being in the hands of the user in a way that works like a democracy, everyone gets a say, a vote and no one can come in and solely control the chain.

There are fears that a Justin saga could happen again but just like a 51% attack on bitcoin, it should become to expensive to to do so but as time goes on and hive grows, the chain should hardfork its self in to a position where that can't happen.

What do you want to see HIVE evolve into?

I want to see hive grow into the most successful social blockchain that becomes the base layer to all social platforms and as many other areas as possible e.g. games and apps etc.

For the voting system to be refined and have a polling system so we can vote on what direction we want to go in, this should stop the proposal system getting cluttered.

Also excitingly Hive might grow into something we don't even expect, something that takes us by surprise in a good way of course.

What do you think about having a large funded DAO for future HIVE development?

It is great that the funding system is already here before this mes happened as it gives us a source of income to work with. We have a lot of tools ready to use to help Hive become what steem tried but failed to so.

What does HIVE mean to you?

Hive is born from steem's ashes, it shows that even in the darkest times, something unexpected and brilliant can happen and we can all work together to create the future that we want to see.
