The breeding: Katsu knows.

Right after Katsu’s battle for love I’ve found that peace had returned on the homestead the following morning. There was a clear sign the job was done but we’ll have to wait about 21 days to find out for sure.
If so, then she is due in the same week as her daughter.

As for Katsu he is a very friendly boy. No competition between him and Jiro whatsoever. They all walk with me around our property, no fence, no leash and everybody stays with me.
There is zero dominance from him towards me and I feel very comfortable around him. He has that gentle giant feel.

Anyway he hasn’t shown any interest in Ayumi yet and confirms my suspicion about her already being bred. I find her belly to be pretty big but then again she is no milk breed so she has a bit more meat to her in comparison with my other girls anyway. Besides that she also has this insanely thick coat.
What do you guys think?

If she is indeed pregnant she should be due late february/early march. This is based on the date when we got her so she might be even earlier because we don’t know when the buck at their place has potentially bred her. I am not sure if I’m going to have a pregnancy check done on her.
Basically the cost for the vet to come is high (over 100 dollars).
If I would check all three goats then I’d do it but for just one it’s just too much.
When it’s time to check the other girls it might already be too late for Ayumi (in a sense that you can already see a large udder and you don’t need someone to tell you she is pregnant).

That's all for the update. We are currently doing a lot of work on the house and trying to stay warm and dry while fixing one room at a time. (It's bit of a struggle.. )
