Inktober days 1 to 4 - Ring, Mindless, Bait, Freeze

I have never used ink in my drawings. And it's been a long time since I've drawn anything more than a simplified, logo-like sign or doodling like the 50 different suns or spruces that I did... perhaps a year ago. And I haven't really drawn that much anyway.

So I really am a novice. And what would be a better way to train myself than inktober. :D

I don't want to make this too hard for me so that it wouldn't be any fun, so doodling and cartoons it is. Let's see if I learn anything during this month.

I'm a bit late with my first drawings, but I wanted to do this anyway. Participating. From now on I try really hard drawing and publishing every day, and as I went and bought myself a proper beginners dip pen & ink set, I will also try that. The first four drawings I did with pen brushes. I thought that it would be easier to start with those, and loose my mind and splash the ink everywhere later. So if you don't hear anything from me for few days, I have probably tried that dip pen, lost it (not the pen) and stabbed myself with it. If I survive that, I will try to redo these pictures as I have a light table (it's actually a bright light lamp, but don't tell me that, I want to believe that I have something so awesome like a light table) so I don't have to draw on top of my sketches. I can ink it on to a new, blank paper, throw it away, ink, toss it to trash and ink ink ink again and again until my fingers bleed. Ink. Then I perhaps will be a true inkist. If my hands just would stop shaking. Freakin' hands.

But hey, after these few photos about the progress, as an extra thing, there's also a story. Few sentences with every drawing so that eventually after the inktober has past, I have a bunch of drawings, and you have had to read my insane story.

And yeah, if you'e wondering. I have several different kind of pencils for drawing, softer and harder. But in the middle of the night when I got this idea to participate the inktober, I used what was there, just 20 cm from my hand. A Bauhaus pen. That's how dedicated I am.

Inktober 2019, days 1 to 4 and the beginning of a story

IMG_20191004_220715_1.jpg

One evening the TV went on on it's own and Rachel couldn't turn her eyes away from it. She started to have all these weird ideas about a well and about someone special for her out there.

Rachel Rabbit heard ominous and weird words in her head, which for a long time didn't make any sense. But after a while one thought stuck. Go out there. Search him.

So Rachel wrote a sign and went out to the street. She recognized the fact that she would have to put herself out there if she wanted that someone special to find her. After a while someone did walk to her and say: "It's not hare, it's here."
Rachel was a bit baffled, but thought about the words really hard and she decided that the person must have meant that she has to go a bit further. So she went.

Rachel took two steps, waited, showed her sign to people passing by, took another two steps and waited, then another and another. Eventually she had taken several thousand steps. But unfortunately had not yet found that special someone. The sign dropped from her paws, she bowed her head down and started walking aimlessly forward. Beyond her town, through the countryside, all the way to the mountains where the cold wind blew mercilessly.

To be continued...

This is amazing. Love how you connect these four drawings into this creative and funny story. It also helps that I am a sucker for word jokes. Will be back tomorrow to upgrade my vote to a fatter one.

Keep it up, I'm already looking forward to the continuation of this / the rest of the month :>)

Thanks. :)
Word jokes are the best!

There are some really hard words in the inktober list for me to draw and include to my story, so let's see where this goes. As if the drawing isn't hard enough, I had to make a story too...

Sure Rachel will find that special Hare for her :) Nice drawings they feel retro-like there are supposed to be psychedelic colours in them. Well done.

Perhaps the colors were caught in customs and come later. :)
