The long awaited,

INT Community Guidelines!

Hello all, I’m MunKii Oh (@munkiioh) the co-founder of Intrepreneur.

I would like to take this opportunity to formally apologize for the delayed release of the INT community guidelines. I chose the task of creating the guidelines based on community suggestions submitted during the past 2 rounds of quests, which proved more difficult than I had originally anticipated.

See those articles here -
https://www.intrepreneur.life/int/@intrepreneur/int-community-update-quests
https://www.intrepreneur.life/int/@intrepreneur/examples-of-effectiveness

Despite limited participation in both rounds of quests, those who did partake submitted excellent answers & questions, which aided greatly in the completion of this final draft.

@denmarkguy, pointed out the need for defining ‘relevance’ when it comes to what types of posts Intreprenuer was/is meant to support. And we couldn’t agree more.

Intrepreneur is envisioned to be a place for supporting entrepreneurial bloggers via monetized blogs among other things (quests, community contests etc.).
Thus, here’s an expanded definition of what an ‘entrepreneur’ is and by extension what types of written material would be considered entrepreneurial.
What is an Entrepreneur?

An Entrepreneur is described as -
"An individual who creates a new business, bearing most of the risks and enjoying most of the rewards. The entrepreneur is commonly seen as an innovator, a source of new ideas, goods, services, and business/or procedures.
Entrepreneurs play a key role in any economy. These are the people who have the skills and initiative necessary to anticipate current and future needs and bring good new ideas to market. Entrepreneurs who prove to be successful in taking on the risks of a startup are rewarded with profits, fame and continued growth opportunities. Those who fail, suffer losses and become less prevalent in the markets."
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/e/entrepreneur.asp

The tendency towards innovation, a willingness to learn & a desire to remain relevant in ever-changing markets are all necessary qualities of entrepreneurship.
Furthermore while almost any topic can be written about at an entrepreneurial level there are some major categories that tend to meet the entrepreneurial niche better than others, such as -

(1) blogs about personal businesses, where they document their progress and/or are looking for feedback

Eg. updates on registered business activity

(2) getting crowdfunding for business start-ups & projects

Eg. calls for private tender agreements

(3) running ads for personal businesses, such as promotions & giveaways

Eg. posts about odd-jobs posts, paid dev/coding jobs, farmers markets, festival booths etc.

(4) providing educational material on learning a new skill or trade

Eg. long form publications, e books, crypto news, high quality photography posts etc.

This is by no means an extensive list, however it helps one to identify the types of posts that meet the ‘entrepreneurial’ niche & by extension can potentially be rewarded with hefty upvotes from any of our heavily staked INT team members.

These 4 categories can be further broken down into tiers/types of posts that are appreciated on Intrepreneur.life.

Tier 1 - 10-20% upvotes

Generally 250 words or less, often repeating information or formatting due to it being a regularly made 'update' or 'ad' style post. (eg. advertising a radio show's times with a brief description, also daily giveaways & contests etc.)

https://www.intrepreneur.life/spinvest/@yonnathang/confirmation-of-membership-to-the-steempower-investments-club

Tier 2 - 20-50% upvotes

Generally 250-750 words, may not have firmly established context but still shows initiative, creativity and effort, (eg. recipe posts where the article extensively explains how to prepare a meal with original images & a step by step guide.)

https://www.intrepreneur.life/spt/@zaku-spt/110-beta-packs-opening-and-profit-calculation-176-5-return-on-investment

Tier 3 - 50-100%

Usually 750-1000+ words, has a clear direction & context for how the blog supports the individual’s online business through the use of well written and formatted posts.

In addition to posts getting appreciated based on the aforementioned, there will also be posts that no longer qualify to use the INT tag. Posts that are considered spam due to their having little/minimal content & having no context will be submitted for review in the #report-spam channel on Discord. There, our team members will review & vote on whether the post does in fact constitute as reward abuse & the offending account/post will be warned in the form of a comment like the one in the example below. -

Any further offences by the same user may result in the offending account’s post(s) being downvoted and their eventual muting from receiving INT rewards, should they refuse to improve on their quality of content in line with the aforementioned guidelines.

Users who have been muted due to repeated offences without changed behavior can petition their muting in the #appeals channel. Should their posts show consistent improvement after over a period of time (3 weeks - 1month) they can request to be unmuted. Should they be approved/unmuted they would then be able to receive INT rewards once more.

Blacklisting will be reserved for accounts that have been muted more than once (ie, they showed improvement & were unmuted only to then return to spam posting.)

Now for this week’s Quests!

To account for the lack of quests over the past 3 weeks, this week the INT token rewards for the quest, sidequest & superquest are a bit higher (25 INT, 50 INT & 125 INT respectively). Please note that these quests are related specifically to the community guidelines that have been presented in this document.

This quest, sidequest & superquest will be repeated and available weekly, from now until January 1st.

Quest - 25 INT

Based on the description above,

Find a post that is worthy of a Tier 1 upvote ( 10-20% from our INT team members) & submit it in the comments section below.

SideQuest 50 INT

Based on the description above,

Find a post that is worthy of a Tier 2 upvote ( 20-50% from our INT team members) & submit it in the comments section below.

SuperQuest 100 INT

Based on the description above,

Find a post that is worthy of a Tier 3 upvote ( 50-100% from our INT team members) & submit it in the comments section below.

Successful quest entries will be rewarded in 1 week.

Authors of the submitted articles will be eligible to receive upvotes from Intrepreneur team members!

By word count it's a 2, but their shown initiative, excellent context, writing & formatting easily qualifies it as a tier 3.
This is where using our discretion as team members will come into play;
since the average music/art post often has very little context/writing accompanying it, this post is an exemplar for it's particular niche here on Intrepreneur, which is why I valued it accordingly. :)

@intrepreneu We are not sure, but perhaps we would need a type of publications, or a type of entrepreneurs, who publish literature, poems, stories, but perhaps we can reward entrepreneurs of art, who make painting, music or some other discipline, not in the field of education as #4, but for their personal development, or for simple whim.
They could be considered entrepreneurs of knowledge, don't you think?

That category can still count as 'educational' since blogging about their personal skills/hobbies showcases it to others who in turn are able to learn about the skill as they read about it.
Furthermore, through their presenting the material in an entrepreneurial way (eg artists can run contests for their followers to win a free art piece,) other vocational entrepreneurs are able to learn via their example.

@munkiioh Oh that's great, I didn't ask about the language used, will it only be in English or do we have curators in Spanish and other languages?

Great to see some clarity as I have been struggling to understand if our community fits in here.

Can I ask if you still see musicians who are trying to become full time by using multiple avenues to promote their music as "intrepreneurs"?
Currently the post generator on my website, AtomCollectorRecords.com, includes the "INT" tag as I know you deemed this relevant initially. These posts are promotional in nature and usual include a little information about the artist, the song and then a way to play the song.

I look forward to hearing your response.

Thank you!

Yes, they definitely qualify! :)
These types of posts can easily fall into tier 1 & 2 (if they're mainly promotional in nature), with long-form publications (eg, a single post where they share multiple songs from an album that they're working on with brief descriptions, etc) tending more towards tier 3 rewards.
