A former coworker of mine was recently diagnosed with blood cancer. She's one of the purest athletes I've ever met, and I say with no exaggeration that she could have probably gone pro in multiple sports if she would have wanted to. Her soul is one of movement, one of exploration, and constantly tiptoes between gratitude and never settling. She's a shining light in this world, and her strength throughout the past few months has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. Her physical abilities have shrunk as her body fights the disease, but her mental abilities have only gotten stronger. She said something to me the other day that really stuck with me, especially considering her circumstances:

"I'm still chasing joy."

This woman has all of the reason in the world to be low. Recently separated from her partner with whom she has four kids (all of which live with her), unsure if she's in the right career, not to mention her diagnosis. But this has become her mantra. Chasing joy whenever possible, by any means. Yours is out there too. Go explore.

"A Single Seed" is my attempt to get out one idea every day that I've learned or accumulated over the years, with the hope that it may stick in someone else's memory bank as well. The idea may be related to fitness, business, life, or philosophy, but I think you'll find that many can change domains if you wish them to. With each seed planted, a new life awaits.
