Once I saw Cub was going to launch on polygon I decided to go ahead and start learning the ropes so that I am ready to take full advantage of it since day one!

I always like to try out with a small amount of money and try things out for a couple of days before I take some bags over. I picked up $100 I had lying around bought some USDC and brought it over to Polygon.

The process was simple and fast, if you know your way around the Binance Smart chain you can do the whole process in less than 5 minutes. I wrote a post recently explaining how I did it if you're interested in using the same method. After the fees, I had $99.50 left.

I'm allergic to having my money/crypto sitting idle so I went exploring.
The first stop was https://dappradar.com/rankings/protocol/polygon, one of the best places to find interesting dapps to try out. I saw a lot of familiar names, even some platform that I'm already using on the BSC but one of them stood out:

AAVE

I've been meaning to try it out for a long time but the ethereum fees have been keeping me away from using it.
It is a decentralized lending platform that lets you deposit your crypto to earn interests or use it to collateralize a loan. I don't like to borrow money against my crypto but I was VERY tempted to do so on the recent crash. The part I'm interested in is depositing some crypto and just earn some passive income without worries.
I deposited 34 MATIC (~$48) with an APY of 3,41%. The price of Matic decreased a little since then so it worth a little bit less now.

Beefy Finance

Beefy is a yield optimizer that out compounds your investment on the various liquidity pools that they offer. They're very famous ranking number one on the Dapp radar 30 days volume, they're also a powerhouse when it comes to DeFi on binance smart chain.

I've tried YOLO farms in the past but it never worked out for me, I didn't lose money but I didn't win either. The interest was just enough to keep me on the same exact spot until I got tired and bailed out. Well, I couldn't resist trying them once again!

I used my remaining 50 USDC to join the FISH - MATIC LP with an irresistible 9.26K%. So far I'm $5 up in just 3 or 4 days and I plan to take out my initial investment if I make it to $100. I love turning my investments "risk-free" by this I mean taking out my initial investment and letting the rest run. It shouldn't take long with this insane APY.

QuickSwap

It is just a decentralized exchange on polygon, I used it to convert my USDC and to make the liquidity tokens I needed for Beefy. Almost everyone is using it but there are other alternatives like 1inch or sushiswap.

Be careful

I'm waiting for CUB to airdrop on polygon and I'm probably going to bring some more money into polygon once they launch. Until then please be careful are research the projects you're jumping into before putting any serious money in. I like gambling on YOLO farms every now and then but only with small amounts that I'm willing to lose!

When it comes to investing bigger amounts of money I prefer to go with well-established dapps. One of the projects I checked out but decided not to use was iron finance and it plummeted the day after. Use daap radar and organize by volume and users in the last 30 days to find the best projects. I prefer to have smaller gains and slowly grow my crypto instead of going for new platforms and risking losing all my investment.
