Bad Cat Beers!

It's Saturday and as the famed Winston Churchill once said, it's hammer time!

I haven't posted for a couple of days. Did you miss me?

No matter. It's Saturday and we simply can't have a Saturday without beers!

Today it's absolutely boiling. The sun is at full beam above our beautiful flat earth. A nice pale summer beer would have made perfect sense, yes? Or some kind of citrus, fizzy IPA bursting with juicy stuffs.

Or, I could be completely maverick and go bad cat Porter.

Oh yes, give me the dark stormy beers that taste like granite on a sunny day. Makes perfect sense.

I did make a concession to the sun. One of them is a milk ice Porter and t'other a vanilla something.

Almost sounds like ice cream.

Let's shake our bacon!!

A collaboration between Magic Rock Brewing and a local ice cream maker, Dixons. Vanilla and oats and a velvety mouth feel are promised.

Mmm, I've always liked a bit of velvet!

20190921_173201.jpg

Look at that. Tan and brownish black like a spiders leg. Looks rather inviting. I think I will slip in.

Mmm mmm. A fine thing indeed. Apologies in advance if the videos are not up to my usual standard of sweary buffoonery.

There is a creamy tang and a very sweet vanilla finish to this. I like it. Although it could do with an extra oomph of something, 7/10 booms!

Next up!!

This cheeky chap is apparently named after a couple of mischievous cats that lived in the brewery.

I hope that it doesn't taste like a mischievous cat. I don't imagine that would be very pleasant.

20190921_183345.jpg

It's black like Street Hawk's visor on a dark night. It looks like a furious black panther's toenails after crawling through a tar pit!

Which is to say, that it is indeed dark and tempting. I get a nice waft of sugary toffee from it and that's before it gets anywhere near my mouth!

Rambunctious!! That's what it is! It's a fudgy dirty creamy coffee bastard of a porter and that my friends is a very good thing. Mmm, sweet malt above!! 8/10 booms!

Well, this has been a pleasant Saturday in the murky grime that has been my week. I am a happy man. I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Cheers!

If I remember well, taking of to Ibiza is close now.
People there will be really dazzled by those mighty sleepers of arms of yours man.
Just one masterclass if I were you, no more. Give em one finger and ...... Well, who am I to advise you.

Anyway, cheers!

Lol, if only that were the case, I have had to cancel the holiday and all the joy it entailed. Close bereavement has the world turned upside down.

But cheers for beers!

Oh no, not another one so soon. Sorry to hear that. I'm not here much these days but do pop in once a day to check out Boomyland, so was rather concerned when you didn't post. Condolences xx

it is surprizing how often two go together quite quickly.
it seems to be that they just seem to lose the will to carry on alone
mind you, you are becoming one of the elder members of the tribe now, and you will be looked up to for advise

Yeah, I think it is that they lose the will to go on without the other.

That's the kind of role I really hope not to have but it's happening already sigh.

The porters do sound good to me as I dream of ushering in the cooler fall weather. Would that it be so, alas.....no.

I am sorry to hear of your life troubles. Unfortunately, they come for us all...my condolences and good thoughts for all!

They do indeed darken all of our doors. bastard life, lol.

I dream of this abnormal summer day bangs in the start of autumn not being unusual and maybe the whole winter will be warm!

Maybe the oomph the first one needs is some actual ice cream. Like a spider but with beer instead of coke? No? Fair enough. I never even liked soft drink spiders after about the first 30 seconds.

Good to see you posting again. I hope life is not going too shit.

Two reasonable beers in one try. Nice!

Are you feeling all better now after your cold?

Oh yes indeed, cold all gone. Now just have winter to deal with: 0)

Ahhh. Do you usually get a lot of snow where you are in winter? I find snow is the one thing that can make winter a little more bearable, at least from inside a warm house looking out. Rainy, grey winters are just depressing.

We used to get a fair amount of snow but now it is exactly as you describe as the worst thing. Grey and rainy and cold. Endless rain in fact. It makes Winter's utterly horrible now. Blegh

Actually, I did miss you. I came to see what you were up to last night. I imagine quite a few of us did. All this vanilla beer...hmm...seems like something I could get on board with. Glad you had a good run with them today. Best wishes for days on the horizon that are up into the 7 to 8 booms range once more.

I was looking for your posts - thought something was wrong with my feed. Then I thought you must be on the beach not thinking about us commoners. I am glad you are back but very sorry to hear you are going through a bad time. Hope you feel better soon. Ah life can be so terrible sometimes....

I suppose we can't have the good times without the bad. It is a hard thing indeed though. Cheers, lass. :0)

My brain is generally refusing to compute dairy in beer but I know nothing XD

Glad you got two pretty good ones :)

Just imagine a big scoop of ice cream plopped in a coffee-ish beer and you can't go far wrong ;0)

That's not hitting my brain as being particularly pleasant and as I don't like beer I'm definitely not game enough to try it so glad it worked out for you? LoL XD

Good health Boomy, Steem has not been the same without the daily dose of comedy.

Sorry to hear about your loss, hoping you can get away for some sunshine and a break from everything at some point soon enough.

Cheers man, plans are afoot. It's a grim time and some days are right bad but I know that this will get better.

In the meantime there is wine and beer :0)

A couple of beers do pass the time, and the passing of time is supposed to help with this stuff. Glad to here blue-sky thinking is taking place!

If only there was blue sky thinking today, the weather went mental shot up here today. It's grey skies and rain, meh. Hehe

Well, you know it actually is providing me with a bit of relief from the grind of all of the other bad bits. Which is good because at the darkest point I was thinking about jacking it all in!

I understand sir meesterboom. Life sucks during those times! At least steemit is there to go to and get away from it all.
