Waaaaaaahhhh!! What do we have here? We have a Saturday beer tasting, that's what!

What a pair we have this week. We have the famed Chopper beer. Definitely a beer and not just a half-hearted promise of me getting my wang out and popping it in a glass of lager.

Well, no promises.

Despite a most definite Autumnicity, today had dawned bright and almost clear.

Garden beer time!

It has been a long and arduous week and I can tell you, I am more than ready for this evening's tasting!

I hope I don't get carried away and end up out in the streets, covered in salmon paste chasing stray cats with my lad in my hand again.

More than once would be getting to be a habit...

So first up. The mighty Chopper!!

This is a fine looking thing. 6 Degrees North's Chopper stout but with the benefit of being aged for six months in whisky barrels.

It looks amazeballs but... it's only 4.1%

Hmm, that could be troubling. Let's not jump to conclusions. It might still be able to tear the roof off the place!

Isn't that a fine picture! It looks like an effervescent little blighter right enough. A huge gassy head building up above a not too dark beer.

Let's get this big black chopper in the mouth!

What a fine thumbnail for a video!

But the beer... Aw, now that was disappointing. I'm fact it was just as I said up there. It was fucking balls. All that hype for nothing. Damn you whisky chopper, damn you to hell!!! 3/10 booms.

It only managed 3 because of the sheer punnery of the name.

Let's wash it away with the next. Which is...

Jaggery X. I have tried the original Jaggery before. It was rather nice. Jaggery being a rustic brown sugar which is added in the fermentation process.

This one has more jaggery, cold brewed local coffee and blueberries.

It could be minging. It could be splendid.

Let's set the jaggy black panther free from it's glass cage!!

Oh man, there is something about this brooding dark monster. It looks awesome, the head a swirl of ever increasing dark brown bubbles as if the glass were full of boiling caramel.

I am excited. Can this one make up for the disappointment of the chopper!?

Hot potato sticks in oil. This is smashing. Brown sugar sweet malt with bags of dark chocolate and coffee following through afterward. A perfect blend followed by a slight fruity sweetness which must be the blueberries.

This, my friends, is TOP DONK! 9/10 BOOMS!!!

I am as happy as a pig in shite! Hurrah!!

Cheers everyone!!

Based upon the way today is going, I'm thinking you might not be alone out there, covered in salmon paste.

Haha, that would be a fine thing. Two rambunctious rapscallions smeared in the paste and howling in the streets!!

Although I do hope your day improves!

I'm happy to see you picked this weeks beers in that order, washing the balls round with the toasty coffee and blueberries. I would like one of those this afternoon, cheers!

It was a fab one and no mistake. Although I loved the chopper name I had my doubts about it's weak lily-livered strength. Glad I saved the brute till last!!

I always just stuck with regular Salva Vida beer 4.5%, just enough to get drunk on, I never went for variety.

I love a bit of variety, like to wonder what the next one is gonna taste like!
