First Time OutOut

A wild Saturday night out, first time this summer. I live close to the harbour, where there is a few bar boats that are always docked, plus some terrace bars, all of which have been jam packed every day when it has been sunny. This summer has been especially good in terms of weather, it's not something we experience here in the northern hemisphere too often.

If you have been following me for a while, you might have gotten to know me enough to realise I really really dislike big crowds, especially when the area is fenced off. Being inside one feels like we are all pigs going to the slaughter, not my favourite feeling in the world if you can imagine. But whatever floats your boat.

So when everyone else is super excited about spending a sunny day outside where all the other people are too, and going for drinks in one of the boats or terraces in the harbour, I shudder at the thought of having to be in one. I don't feel joyful or relaxed when I have to sit among all the other peasants. I just walk by fast and immerse myself in the world of a good audiobook, and take out my Pokemons for a long walk.

Yesterday though a few friends of mine, who work in the restaurant business and are usually behind the bar (not to be confused with being behind bars, though that would be better in a lot of cases...) every weekend, were going for drinks at the harbour. The weather was really shitty, heavy showers of rain all evening long, which meant the harbour was pretty damn deprived of people. Fantastic, it was my time to emerge from the ivory tower to have a drink in a bar. I do most often prefer to drink home alone, since the facilities are better and drinks cheaper, not to mention the company is obviously second to none.

I donned on my best and most well suited outfit for this important occasion of going out on a Saturday night for the first time this summer; a pair of wellies and a rain coat!

I ordered my go-to drink for cold weather, hot chocolate with mint liquor, enjoyed it, and headed back home for sauna. That's enough excitement for me for a while.
