Mindful Monday - Investing in Yourself - Heading Towards a Well Lead Life...

An astonishing fact is that about 99% of who we are is our mind. The mind is the essence of our being! Let’s get that mind working for us - helping us shape our lives!

Let’s move beyond being mindful and having meditating being just something to calm us down. Let's have more than just being aware and acknowledging our feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations. Let’s use this mind with it’s thoughts and mindset, this great power, for our intellectual, emotional, cognitive and physical well-being.

It has been said that you are what you think and there is some truth in that.

In the teachings of the Buddha, he said:

Whatever one frequently thinks and ponders upon, that will become the inclination of his mind. (Source: the Dvedhavitakka Sutta).

We can use our feelings and bodily sensations to tap into what our body is saying about our needs, are they being fulfilled? Once our needs are being fulfilled we are more freed up to fulfill our desires which leads to a more fulfilling life! In my previous post here I spoke of this and the wonderful workshops that @eco-alex is putting on for non-violent communication, teaching us how we can recognize our needs and make requests to have them met. His last NV workshop was posted here.

When we tap into this natural resource of our mind, we gain more power over our present, there will be more depth and context to our past and we can anticipate the future better.

Start understanding and using your mind, put it to work for you in your own unique way of thinking, feeling and choosing! Go past being mindful to having a transformation! Make sustainable, long-lasting changes and create successful thinking and learning habits.

Our minds give us the ability to learn (I choose to be a lifelong learner), create, build memories, change circumstances, increase emotional control and feel intellectual satisfaction.

Our mindset is a very powerful tool that shapes our prospective. Our mindset can actually change our brain and we can develop cognitive resilience. Resilience to strive and thrive!

Once we understand how we think (which is unique to every one of us) and process information, we can then activate positive mindsets making them a driving force to change our life. We can build our memory with useful memories, increasing our learning, learning success and with our customized way of thinking have a mindset that energizes and makes for that sustainable change.

Let’s keep in sight the power of mindset, tune in to how we think and how we learn. Put purpose in our learning and thinking to make for a more meaningful life!

Dive into deep thinking, and try to learn something new every day to the point where you can teach it!

Have your thinking, learning, education, your philosophy lean towards building a better world with connectedness and humanness as a core purpose. How beautiful it is to run into someone with a deep sense of humanity! To have a life well lived, a good life!

What does a “good life” mean to you?

Remember your ability to think, feel and choose is innately powerful and resilient – your mind is very potent!

One other aspect we need to keep in mind is that our unique thinking and learning comes from within and between specific contexts and cultures. Once you can recognize the impact of your sociocultural context (where and how you were bought up and other factors of the time and place you are living in) and can recognize your own thoughts, you then can begin to redefine your past, re-imagine your present and realize your future! How wonderful is that!

I don’t mean to over simplify things here, for human behavior is very complex, especially the cognitive and metacognitive skills of attention, reasoning, memory and learning and it is these skills that mostly drive the process of life!

Our thought lives has the power and can be used to improve our intellect and cognitive performance and to improve our mental and physical health.

So what will it be – will you allow your thoughts to limit you or free you to develop abilities beyond what you expected?

Choose a mindset that extends your abilities and you will experience greater intellectual satisfaction, emotional control and mental and physical health.

Now the question is how do we do this, harness to think deeply, learn powerfully and deal with problems, resolve challenges so we can have fululling, meaningful lives?

Realize what power you have when you put your mind to something! It's the cultivation of healthy, successful mindsets which is key to having a thriving lifestyle, to prosper!

Here is some food for thought –
Could it be we are actually wired for love, that your body and brain are finely attuned to your uniqueness and the positivity of your mind? And it is when we are out of sync with this wired-for-love design that we run into problems, we begin functioning at a compromised level?
Consider Love as a term to include all the characteristics of us humans that we value like gratitude, joy, peace, kindness, happiness etc.

It’s funny when you look at the chart that was given in the Non-Violent Communication Workshop of feelings we have when our needs are being met and when they are not, it is these type of feeling we have when our needs are being met and we are more fulfilled.

Could it be a life of love is a “good life”!

I like thinking and using my mind. Reading is a great way to do this, so is thinking. I feel meaningful.

Abraham Hicks says “a belief is just a thought you keep thinking” which I love. We can control our thoughts through our focus so that’s the formula I use to redesign my psyche :-)

Ya! I'm reading a book by Dr. Caroline Leaf which helps to tap into our customized way of thinking, which each of us is very unique in the way we think and it is through our thinking, feeling and choosing that we develop our being. And for making changes she suggest repeating it for 3 twenty one day sessions to have it really become apart of you and as you say your belief!

Another good post here and I think that we are all indeed wired for love, as whenever we feel or express love, it is always the best moments of our like.
Surrender to love is required and all else will fall in place.
Simple, but true!

Hello @porters, what a beautiful post, very important everything you mention and I firmly believe in that, the mind is everything, however, when we allow the soul and what is in it to influence the mind and this in turn controls our body we will be filled with peace, love and tolerance.

Everything will work in better harmony and synchrony, thanks and a big hug.
