Jaxx Will be Getting Stable Coin Support

avatar

Hey Messy Jessies

Since I'm a lazy little shit who likes to live dangerously I tend to use hot wallets to store my cryptocurrency. I realise its not the safest method of storing your currency but it is convenient and works for the things I would like to do.

Jaxx has been one of my favourite hot wallet apps from some time now but one thing it was lacking was support for stable coins. But that looks soon to change with the latest update in the Jaxx Liberty app on both desktop and mobile.

According to the latest update by Jaxx so as from version v2.3.1 the app will have support for the following stable coins.

Stablecoins

What does this mean for the average user?

It now means you can store an asset on your mobile device that provides you with price stability so you can carry dollars on your app.

This is great for trading swings if you want to buy and sell and then store your currency. I think its also great if you getting paid or want to make payments and want a stable asset to trade-in. I can see this being used as part of credit card payments in future and the user will still be in complete control of their money.

I would like to see a method where your hot wallet connects to your visa or master card and you can use your sable coins at POS systems as you would the cash in your bank account. While this may still be a while off, i'm glad I'll be able to store some stable coins in my Jaxx wallet soon :)

Do you own any stable coins? Which ones do you like? Why do you own stable coins?

I'm going to start keeping some around and maybe do some trading with it and see how it goes.

Never used Jaxx but doesn't it have Tether (USDT) from the beginning?

Since I'm a lazy little shit who likes to live dangerously I tend to use hot wallets to store my cryptocurrency.

Wow! Feels like myself. Though I try to take as much precautions using these hot wallets and you probably do too.

Yes, they used to support USDT but they removed it. Probably due to all the issues with the backing of the currency and bitfinex not coming forward regarding how it is run.

Oh, didn't know that. It's great they added other stable coins then.

Now if they can get integration with a payment provider to lock stable coins in a smart contract so you can use them to pay for stuff, then I think we'd be in a space to really push crypto forward. I'd do my best to start living off of it

We all do. While I get too little reward for my efforts here on Steem, I consider it an investment in the future when the price goes back up and I'd start living on those earnings.

I'd do my best to start living off of it

Do you own some? I haven't bought any stable coins yet. I'm actually even more keen now that crypto.com cards will be available world wide next year

I like to have USD-C in celsius to get 8% in a year. MUCH higher than I can get in a bank in sweden.
So soon I can transfer USD-C from celsius to jaxxx - convert - and send back. Do not need to send to my ledger first.
Cards - well that is only troube in sweden. So regulated now so......oh oh oh. My friend could not longer send money fronm the bank to coinbase. So we need to find other easier ways to crypto. Grrrrrr

That's a pretty good return on a stablecoin how long have you been investing? How often do they payout returns? Monthly or weekly and does it compound? That does sound helpful I hope Jaxx will soon connect with a card provider or have their own card so we don't need to cash out we can just spend it how we feel.

Gosh, why is Sweden so strict with crypto? Did something happen?

I have been using it Maybe 8-10 month. But Most money in BTC that just now gives 3 % . The % can change Every month depend on market.

Weekly payout.

Cant you use coinbasecard? I know it is possible in Sweden But I do not have it.

Moneyloundery.. .Every bank is so afraid..and I Think it is in all EU. But still I have some ways...

Even the 3% isn’t bad compared to what banks around Europe are offering!

Coinbase has no support here, not Tenx or crypterium either so I really hope this Crypto.com card comes soon

Ah I see and ofcourse evading paying taxes because how will all the refugees living in malmo survive without your generous tax donations

I am impressed over your skill of sweden. I know that it is a huge debate in sweden about exactly this. But I am not one part of this debate.
My knowledge about southafrica is so so so so low. But I guess you get some help from google.
