How do you find the energy to keep showing up?

One of the biggest motivation I learned in the early days when I started hustling was that you need to stay consistent at something at something for it to pay off, but at this point, still as a hustler who is yet to attain financial freedom is that you can be consistent at something and still fail woefully.
While we all learned that consistency is key, and what breaks barrier, I've come to unlearn and relearn, that consistency should be a by-product of results.
What do I mean?
When you constantly do something and still cannot achieve any results and you know you've given time and effort, then being consistent or just blindly continuing will most certainly mean only one thing: there's something not right with what you're doing.
When you're averagely consistent, you need to see results, seeing results means that your efforts are accumulating and compounding into something big, just that you haven't achieved fullblown results yet.
Every effort you make should actually polish and make you better, when people put effort, resources and merge it with time, there should be progress to actually define the extent of the effort. So while progress is not necessarily result, it (progress) is the proof that consistency is actually working.
Consistency doesn't work the way you think
Consistency should not just be a statement or a cliche, it's supposed to be a combination of effort, time and improvement which gives birth to results no matter how small it looks. Consistency should spell improvement, it should be visible for all to see.
The only reason why I think we should even mention consistency is if we keep doing the right thing, seeing improvements but yet we haven't seen fullblown results that can be converted to dividends.
This is why I think consistency that doesn't show improvement is simply time wasting, and this is where people continually reiterate that time and is actually money. When you put in time, there should be a type of improvement that's visible.
Even if others can't see it, you should, and that's actually the biggest improvement you'll ever make as a hustler struggling to achieve or make it big.
While the process is not easy and success is not guaranteed overnight, improvements and results should be proof that your endeavors are actually working, and even more reason or motivation to actually continue.
This is why you need to see small results as motivation, not your limiting factor, not mere words. If words alone still motivates you, then you might need some proper realignment to your mentality.
Mere motivation is not being
Life is now more than motivation, and all I see motivation now is just a niche of content on the Internet that honestly holds no water. In life you need tactics, strategies and proven methods that works, motivation will not do anything if you're yet to actually key in to the right strategies.
This is why people struggle.
The reality is that it's hard because time and effort without results that can translate to rewards is sad, but the truth is that no matter how demotivated or motivated you are, you need to see results and improvement before you can even begin to mention the importance of consistency.
Tlme is currency and this is because it's limited, it's the only thing money cannot buy, or replace. This is why we have to channel it (time) properly. ### So how do you stay consistent when it doesn't seem to be working?
......well, You don't. If you're seeing improvements, little progress and you're getting better everyday, then this is your cue to stay consistent.
You don't need motivation words to help you stay consistent, all you need is to draw from all I've told you. So far, in my hustling journey, I've learned that this is the sign you need, also, remind yourself that you need to make it, and this is how you can stay hungry through difficult times.
You quite put the finger where it hurts. Motivation levels for me oscillates and what keeps me going is the idea and commitment for a long term investment. That was the incentives for the moves that I made and what keeps me away from watching the price(s) in these bearish times. Will it pay out? Hard to say, but I am there and doing my best.
I think being a long-term investor is not easy, and nobody can even say otherwise, but it's decision like this that changes everything. 99% of the population will always run away from the highest risks and that's because of the fear. The bearish times will be over and a lot of people will begin to hope that they did something when it was bearish
The timing of this post is interesting that it's one of the very first posts I read after coming back.
A friend was seeking my counsel about how she was contemplating giving up on something she's been pursuing for a very long time because she felt she wasn't getting better at it and wasn't seeing results either. Her dilema was that she wasn't sure, but she knew that if she stopped for just one day, going back would be difficult. So when she asked me what to do, I told her only to give up when she was sure that was the only option, and not just because she was thinking about it.
How have you been, old friend? :)
Well you're right. I'm not gonna lie, I've given up many times this year already, but I've picked myself back up because that's literally the only option I have. I think everyone will get it right if they keep investing effort, time and consistency while tweaking things to make it right. I think everyone can.
This is one of the things I admire about you. You're one of the most persistent people I've met, and sometimes I wonder how you do it.
I agree that consistency is important. I know a lot of people, but I remember seeing how someone successful was talking about the difference between talent and skill. In that discussion, he said that everything was skill, and not talent, and you can improve your own skill.
I believe in talent, but I think it's generally not enough because you need talent meeting opportunities and even luck to some extent. The world destroys talent everyday, and I think people has to make their own good everyday.
