Movies for children

All of us love watching movies, especially children who love the visual treat. There have been a lot of movies produced especially with children in mind. I have watched many of them.

Some of the movies have been adaptations of the book version. They include Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia, Around the world in eighty days, Alice in wonderland, Little women, Charlie and the chocolate factory, Jungle book, and many more.

Have you seen a few or all of the above?

Whereas the Harry Potter and the Narnia series is all about magic and wonderlands, the Jules Verne book adaptation is more of an adventure that gives children an insight into travel and geographical locations.

Alice in wonderland is a wonderful classic that will always enchant children. I did love the return of Alice to wonderland movie, though. Although there are many who disliked it, it is a must-watch and there is not much to dislike anyway.

As for Aladdin, there have been a lot of adaptations not only in English but other languages too and also in cartoons and series even. The song above which is from the latest movie adaptation is really a good watch and you must not miss it. Will Smith as the genie has done a good job.

As children, we all would have read fairy tales and magic has always been a part of it. So, a movie with visual effects will certainly have the audience spellbound. Movies like the Harry Potter series helped visualize what JK Rowling wanted to convey through the book. Personally speaking, I found the book more captivating but reading is not everyone's cup of tea. Hence the movies.

Movies are also helpful for the children to understand the story easily as many of them will not be able to read and understand the language completely.

It is my opinion that people should produce more movies for children in other languages too even if those are low budget so that they can understand and be able to visualize what they have read.

Not every child can travel and especially with the pandemic and travel restrictions worldwide, it would be helpful for them to watch such movies. This is an appeal to moviemakers all over the world.

Great post, and I agree we should spend the time and effort to dub all the good children's movies to a multitude of languages, as young children can't read subtitles yet.
