Synopsis
Everyone is concerned about Isoken's singleness, but just when their wish come through Isoken is torn between two choices.

The movie revolves around Isoken, a beautiful, successful and smart woman who has all she wants. Well not for her family and friends, whose persistent nagging are channelled towards her finding a man. The most of the pressure comes from her mother Mrs Osayande, a typical African woman who wants nothing more from her daughter Isoken but for her to get married and give her grandchildren. Always, on her neck she uses her younger sister's marriage to constantly taunt her. As if that was not enough, she takes every opportunity to matchmake her daughter with rich young men, which however paid off as Osaze came into the picture.

Osaze is a successful, handsome man whose personality is that of an egoistic one, deriving pride in his success and egoistic nature and wants a like minded woman like him. Not to mention his mother's whose personality was that of a snobbish rich woman, who wants "her best for her son's upcoming wedding not the best for their wedding. Things however became complicated when Isoken meets Kelvin by chance, a nice, handsome white photographer whose personality was that of a man who every woman would want. He brings out the best in her and makes her feel so comfortable unlike when she is around Osaze who makes her feels so uptight.

Now The Dilemma...

Isoken as a movie covers a topic dominant in Nigerian culture today, where most overbearing parent especially the mothers, pressure their matured children, the females most a times into getting married with the reason of I want to see my grandchildren, hahaha. I mean they can be so funny, non-relenting and annoying most of the times while some even go as far as bringing suitors for their children who chooses to be strong headed.

Not just that, the movie also tries put the audience in Isoken's shoes, showing us how the matters of the heart maybe not be as easy as it seems while in the midst of trying to please family and friends by following their choice. It opens up to the choices we make, like do you make a choice because family and friends say so or you make it for your own happiness?. Another thing I love about the movie was girl's time, where Isoken and her friends come together to gist and gossip about silly things, supporting each other and just being girls, which can be hilarious, you know we ladies and our silly talks lol.

With this movie as her directorial debut, Jadesola Osiberu was able to give us real life story that one could easily relate to, choice of cast was great too, well for me not bad for her directorial debut as it caught a wide range of viewers. Joseph Benjamin as Osaze in the movie was able to portray his role well with his charming sense of pride, although lacks a bit of chemistry in some of the scenes with Isoken. Dakore Akande as Isoken, her performance was an amazing one, she was able to convey her emotions in ways you can easily relate to.

Credit also goes to Isoken's mother played by Tina Mba, giving us a wonderful and funny performance that would make one think of his/her mother. She was able to remind us of her being one of the finest actors in Nigeria. Oh! And our cute "oyinbo" actor, Marc Rhys as Kelvin whose personality can not be helped but loved, taking every opportunity to steal the viewers heart at every of his scenes. The other cast were fun to watch as they made good use of their screen time. Although some loopholes here and there in places where they could have performed better, but still a good one.

Isoken is an entertaining movie you can see with family and loved ones, keeps you smiling and blushing here and there with great ending. You see the beauty of love and friendship, building of courage to go for what you want and the annoying part of marriage pressure, which of course can not be blamed, because for what it is worth, it serve as a reminder to the singles that the clock of marriage is ticking hahaha and they want grandkids. (Do not say I told you so hehehe)
