avatar

Hello crafters,

This is my finished Friday, Twirly Beanie.

Last week I posted this pic below, in my FB story then one of my Crochetist friend, Neva, ask if I have the pattern for this. She already made like this before but she forgot how to make it again. I have kept before a diagram with this stitch but I can't find it. So, I pm her that I will just video tutorial and write a blog with written pattern.

Very timely the yarns, indophil and lanalon, I ordered online arrived last Sunday from Crochet With Felicity, FB page of my friend yarn seller Pam.

I chose the yarn 3 ply Lanalon, soft acrylic yarn, easy to crochet with the 5mm hook I used glided easily, no hassle.

I started with:

Round (Rnd) 1: With yellow yarn(yy), in a ring or magic ring, Chain(ch) 3(considered as 1st Double Crochet (dc), 14dc, pull the tail to close the ring, weave the ends and cut, slip stitch (sl st) into 3rd ch of beginning ch 3. (15 dc)

Rnd 2: Front post (insert the hook under the 1st ch 3, ch 2, 1 dc next space(sp) this is in between the 2dc, fp in next dc...repeat all around, sl st into 2nd ch of beginning (beg) ch 2 drop yy bring in royal blue yarn (rby). (15 dc, 15 fp dc)

Rnd 3: fp ch2,drop rby bring in yy, 2 dc in next sp, drop and bring in rby fp dc...repeat all around. (15 fp dc, 2dc x 15 = 30dc)

Rnd 4: just repeat process, increase(inc) the in between(bet) sp with 3 dc in same sp.

Rnd 5: same process inc the in bet sp with 4 dc in same sp.

Rnd 6 to Rnd 14: same process inc the in bet sp with 5 dc in same sp

Rnd 15 & Rnd 16: same with Rnd 14 with rby

Rnd 17: turn your work, work with the wrong side, 1 single crochet(sc) in each 2 st, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each st, sl st in next st, 1 scallop made...repeat all around to end, knot and weave end. Done!

The wrong side of the beanie is clean with the technique of dropping and carrying along both colorway.
