Motto of the NeedleWorkMon-Day | If you have a pattern for soft toys sew 5!!

(Edited)

Welcome again my favourite needleworkes all over the world ! Today I will present something I sewed during quarantine days and I will explain the sewing motto from the title!

When you have kids, nephews, nieces, grandkids or your friend has something of all the previous relatives, and you have a skill that applys to them...like sewing, and you want to make something for one of them....

PLEASE DON'T !! DON'T MAKE ONLY ONE OF SOMETHING!

I have already mentioned in a post that when I was crocheting, I was crocheting an object only once and when it was over I had totally forgotten everything and I only had some pictures, sometimes only one, sometimes the procedure, sometimes nothing!!!

But when I started to sew I finally liberated myself (maybe because sewing seemed easier to me than crochetting) and when I was cutting patterns for making something I was acting in a different way, making two objects at the same time..

So, when we were in quarantine, Ariadne wanted an owl, Lydia wanted it too, and I found an excellent free pattern here and I decided to make two owls..

But then my elder son wanted another one, and then I thought I want to make a present for my teacher in German
(yes, I am learning German in order to move there next year, wish me good luck!I will take exams for C1 9 months from now!)

and ....having all those thoughts

I finally cut not 2, neither 3 but...5 pieces!

And as you can see from the following images, I use only fabric from upcycling clothes, skirts, trousers, shirts, etc... And I put my simple pen to make the lines.

Here, I used white chalk, since it's black fabric, remnant from a skirt I think...

More images from my fabric scraps, this ones is from sportswear, that I unpicked the stitches...

A green fabric scrap, used to be kid pants...

And a blue fabric scrap, again from sportswear...

So, here is the answer to my motto! Why make 5? Because it saves sooo much time....!!

And here they are, ready to chat in the dark!! They are standing on my bed! Of course now, we don't have them all since we already gave our gifts!!

And of course, here you can see Lydia holding two of them, while making awkard poses!!

So, how do you think?? Send me your comments and show me your love!!

P.S. How many pieces do you make from a single pattern???

EDIT : I FORGOT TO POST IT IN THE COMMUNITY, So I crosspost it ! I hope I did it right!!

For everything there is a first time!!
