NeedleworkMonday: ___Crocheted Leaf, Chopstick Lock and Embroidered Roses___ by @needleworkmonday

Have a blessed Monday everyone! Since I couldn't find the Chinese button I've been planning as lock for my finished crocheted bag, I opted to make a crocheted leaf instead as cover for my bag.

There it is!

as you can see, I made a chain for about 12 inches long in I left 10 chains vacant for the buttonhole, The leaf measured 3.5 inches. Once done, I decided to embroider little roses for enchancement.

Actually, I couldn't find this kind of thread in our local stores that matched my bag so I got some from the all-purpose cover given by my aunt who recently died in Guam due to brain operation. I promised myself to make a table runner out of the remaining cover. Perhaps I will put some tussles on both ends to make a vintage look.

For the roses, I did four strands to make the petals. I invented a faux needle out of the bronze wire of our dynamo. First the thread in one line, pull it back then make the circles until the desired thickness is achieved. Repeat the process in circles until the rose formation is done.

The I looked for locks in my stored buttons. I have the habit of keeping these little things in plastic bottles so I can easily find them. I thought off something that would match the wooden handle. Well, the wooden chopstick is just right for the purpose. I guess cutting about 1.5 inches won't be missed! lol!

That's how it looked like now. My bag has a leaf cover now. I also place a removable brooch at hte back of the handle.

You can just bring down the leaf cover if you want it open with the brooch which gives another pleasing view of the bag.

Now am done with my work and quite satisfied with the result. I hope you'll agree with me too! :)

Thank you all for dropping by and ever thankful to @crosheille, @muscara, @shanibeer, @marblely and @neumannsalva for always giving her comments on my works!

Till then,
