STEEM isn't a failure, this is only a transition

What is the "probability of success" of STEEM?

steem analysis 9_7_19_11.png

Steem primary trend, from its launch in April 2016 until today, from 0.64 usd to 0.24 usd

The performance of STEEM as a cryptocurrency, as we can see in the chart, in general has been "negative" (an ROI of approximately -60%) and very volatile... especially in June and December 2017 and early 2018, but understanding this line as a primary trend, the performance has been negative, STEEM started with a price of 0.64 usd and we are at 0.24 usd (data taken from coinmarketcap) at the moment, it is not something we can celebrate or feel good about, quite the opposite, the issue is, what can we do about it.

But, what I just argued is not enough to determine that STEEM is a failed project, quite the opposite ... one of the things that leaves me calmer is that STEEM already went through a very serious historical moment that was when it reached its historic minimum, 0.069 usd in March 2017, and despite that, stayed above 1 usd for months between 2017 and 2018, which makes me think that a reasonable value for STEEM is around 1 usd ... but another thing to worry about is the ranking in the Market Capitalization, we got to be in the place #15 and more, and now we are near the place #80, all these are data by which no doubt you have to worry about.

Everything revolves around the community and its users

.

We can talk a lot about the price of the crypto currency may have, its market capitalization, its volume, its behavior over time, etc. But we are talking about technical aspects that don't necessarily represent the value of STEEM and its blockchain, only its price, which, in turn, represents the decisions of buyers and sellers in the market, not its value, nor its utility.

What I'm going with all this is that in the end, STEEM will thrive as long as its technology is useful and of value to a large community, everything revolves around the community and its users and the adoption that the STEEM blockchain may have worldwide.

That's why I'm confident that the "good times" will come back, and even if they never come back to what they were a year ago, I will remain firm because my opinion about the value that STEEM has does not come from its price, but from its usefulness, and until now it's the only blockchain of its kind, which allows transactions at an impressive speed and with the ability to empower and reward communities and their users through interaction and the creation of content, in a totally auditable and censorship-free way.

HARDFORK, SMT'S, TRIBES, etc

A lot has been said about hardfork, I personally believe that a change in the reward curve and the adoption of the 50/50 curator/author rewards model can benefit the platform since it will establish a more equal relationship between curators and authors, before hardfork curators only received 25%, now they will receive 50% which will mean a much greater incentive to curation, just as creating content is important, it's also important that those who value others people content are getting something of value in return.

With respect to SMTs, I think @steemit has already done a great job in making us wait for nothing, which is why I and I think many other users have decided to rely more on the steem engine tokens and scot tribes, which I'll talk about in more detail later.

A call to action

I think there is no more practical solution than simply staying on the platform, bringing as much value as you can and spreading the word about STEEM, which is still great and has a lot to bring to people's lives.

So don't get discouraged, STEEM has a brighter future, we are just at the beginning.

Soon I'll be talking about the @neoxian tribe and how it can benefit the Hispanic community, so stay tuned.
