Destruction Derby of the 21st century.

Destruction Derby is the game with which I released the first PlayStation, hence I love him. From time to time I make a game to see how badly he has aged, even though he still has his charm; but also to remember that the saga has been dead since that Destruction Derby Arenas of 2004 on PS2.

What starts badly ... sometimes ends well

It is a metaphor to see how Wreckfest begins and how its development was, because I was shocked enough (never better) to verify that we had to initially control some tiny lawnmowers in a demolition sand, with the pressure of that challenge that urges us to defeat three rivals.

I thought: it is the worst way to start a game, because these cars are slow and clumsy and do not reflect the behavior of real cars in the game. The funny thing is that this kind of casual tutorial would be repeated in a mid-season event and with a race to use. There it began to be clear to me that Wreckfest was not going to stick only and exclusively to the usual cars and in fact I could corroborate it shortly after competing (literally) with sofas on wheels. And they are not the only oddities of the rest of championships.

At times, it looked like the TOCA saga of Codemasters, but passed through the Jackass filter. And that I will always like. In any case, where Wreckfest really stands out is when it comes to recreating races where everything is worth and serious accidents end up destroying the cars as if they were butter.

It is in that kind of circuits, especially those that have crosses to make it more conducive to create chaos with collisions and turns of all kinds, where a strong nostalgic charge that evoked what I felt the first time I played Destruction Derby. Even some models of cars (with their logos and colors) and circuits are practically a carbon copy! Sassy tribute, go.

In Wreckfest weighs more positive, anyway, and improves as we see the most advanced circuits, where there is not even a giant loop that usually happens without messing up Sonic himself. The grace is that not all cars are able to solve that problem easily, being unparalleled the impression of seeing them fall from above everything. When I see it with a good discount, it will fall fixed in physical format and it will be a game that I will safely explode with the arrival of Xbox Series X to completely dissipate those insufferable waits.
