No one is safe from death in Ash of Gods

Ash of Gods: Redemption is a role-playing game with turn-based fighting, where we can even use cards, and visual novel elements in which every decision we make throughout the adventure can affect history and gameplay. This title, developed by the Cypriot studio AurumDust, has a constantly evolving narrative, a unique audiovisual section, tactical combats and two broad multiplayer modes, one PvP and another PvE, where players can test their skills.

Its history takes us to the world of Terminus, where humanity faces the reapers, supernatural beings that absorb the vital energy of people, in order to preserve their life and face an ancient prophecy. Abandoned by the gods, the game puts us in the role of Thorn Brenin, who flees the harvest with his daughter Gleda, which could be the key to ending the prophecy, Hopper Rouley, a mystic sage who hides some secrets, and Lo Pheng, a murderer of the Shadow Clan, intertwining his stories throughout the adventure.

Their mechanics are very accessible, making them after a few minutes of play. Here everything develops as if it were a visual novel, choosing the places we want to visit and chatting with characters who later offer us different decisions to be taken that slightly affect the course of the story and the future of our protagonists. The most complex part begins with combat, of which we speak more extensively below.

The exploration is not one of the strengths of the game, since normally our characters automatically move from one place to another without us doing anything, beyond the occasional decision we make to face one way or another and access certain stores to make us with new equipment.

As for duration, the adventure can be completed in about 10 hours, offering some replayability by knowing what would have happened if we had made other decisions. Unfortunately, these decisions mostly do not usually have a great weight and you can see all the possible paths in a second round. Of course, you always have the possibility to face the adventure in different levels of difficulty. As an extra you also have the multiplayer PvE mode, where we join a friend to fight against AI in different challenges, or the PvP to challenge other players and move up the ranking, also unlocking new characters and cards to gradually improve our group and even get to create clans.

Ash of Gods: Redemption is, as a conclusion, a title that knows how to entertain and have fun without offering an experience too original, with an argument that, although it takes time to start and has some inconsistency, we have never been bored, a system of turn-based combat quite challenging and some decisions that affect the course of history. We also liked the audio section, especially the great action scenes, the animations and the great melodies.

If you are attracted to the genre you are facing a good game that, perhaps, is missing something that differentiates it from the rest, but still more than meets. It also now includes texts in Spanish, which will make it easier to follow the plot and better understand its mechanics.
