Neoxian City Photo Challenge - Active Vacationing

It's time for another photo challenge hosted by @neoxian-city. This week the topic is VACATION. It's not as easy as it sounds, given the fact that I live in a big, ugly, dirty city, and I'm not on vacation at the moment. Of course, I could take a selfie on the roof with a tropical drink in my hand... but that would be just corny, right? So instead, I tried looking through my photos for a good vacation shot, till I realized:

I Don't Go On Vacation!

Sandy beaches, parasols, sun-lotion, swimming pools, bikinis, margaritas... that's really not my world. I mean sure, I don't mind sharing some beers with friends on a beach, and taking a swim in the ocean can be fun. But to travel far just to go to a place to chill... I really don't see the point in that. Instead, I'm happy to swing a sledge hammer or a machete, do some physical work, or enjoy the sensation of travel, that is going from place to place, at a comfortable bicycle pace. But those things I would hardly call vacations.

So instead of the typical pics, I decided to share some photos from my last trip, cycling down the Pacific coast (with quite a bit of inland adventures), from Vancouver Island to the Mexican border, about a year ago. These are only three small impressions, featuring the redwood forests in California, the sensation of instant camaraderie with fellow riders I met on the way, and yes: getting ready for a dip in the ocean. Enjoy!
