August 10th Sports Update - NHL, NCAA, MLB

A pretty slow day in the sports world but I did just finish watching a crazy NHL game, a 5 OT thriller between Columbus Blue Jackets and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Today also saw the Pac-12 cancel fall sports and I briefly talked about the aftermath of yesterdays MLB brawl.

Record were set and history was made in a marathon match between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Tampa Bay Lightning. 4th longest game in NHL playoff history, most saves by a goalie in NHL playoff history by Joonas Korpisalo and most time of ice by a skater by Seth Jones. It was wild to watch so I can't imagine what it was like to play in that game.

Pac-12 has followed the Big Ten to cancel fall sports. Hopefully we start to see more conferences follow suit in the coming weeks. Still it sounds like some conferences and school are set on playing this fall. Free corona virus included in the price of tuition.

Lastly the A's and Astro's had a bit of a brawl yesterday that landed one of the longest suspension to a coach in MLB history. 20 games is basically a third of the season this year.
