Plucked, a Freewrite

Plenty of pickers
had top hats of silk,
plucked from the underbellies
of hollowed out milk.

All presents were sorted,
all babies were afloat,
not one person thought
to go check the moat.

There they all were
awash in the drink,
floating face downward
and needing to blink.

Over they rolled
in synchronized swim.
They lifted their arms
and made like a blimp.

Below the drain circled
all sharks stayed away.
A snake coiled injured
and gave them the fray.

Into the fold! the eldest cried
but never was heard
the younguns had the gumption
but the elder was a nerd.
